I just want to quietly draw manga Chapter 344

After Monday’s episode, people had started discussing the episode as usual. Lelouch had started his attack on the Tokyo Settlement, collapsing the entire platform like a line of dominoes. The episode had ended right there, leaving everyone staring at their screens.

“Muzishiro and his cliffhangers again. I haven’t even seen his other work, but I swear, I want to send a razor blade from the US all the way to Japan.”

“I was so hyped for next week’s episode. Lelouch going to war against the entire Britannian force in Japan? That’s going to be peak.”

“I didn’t like his laugh at the end when he made the floor fall.”

“It’s Lelouch. He always walks that line between caring big brother and total psycho.”

“I still can’t get over Euphy’s death. I surely thought she would survive.”

“Anyone new here… listen. In Muzishiro’s shows, it’s not about if the heroine dies. It’s when. Same for any major character everyone loves.”

“I know, but deep down I really thought he’d turn over a new leaf this time. That’s on me for having hope. Even after reading so many of his works, I still believed a little. Fool me once, sure. Fool me forever… apparently yes. I honestly want to give him a piece of my mind when he shows up for the Code Geass promotion.”

“Careful. He barely makes appearances. And now that new fans are joining and suffering, he’ll vanish again. That’s what everyone is saying. We might not see him until next year.”

“Code Geass doesn’t even need promotion. Everyone is talking about it already. But the official cast, director, and producer still have to do the tour. And I heard Muzishiro’s going to make two or three public appearances.”

“And after making outrageous things he goes into hiding. That’s why we see his few appearances. He did the same with JoJo when it released. At the time he killed Madoka Magica’s characters and Maes Hughes back to back. He didn’t even make an appearance for JoJo. No signings either. I’m just waiting for him to hold a signing event.”

“Same. I have a Rurouni Kenshin volume I bought for a stupid price. I need him to sign it.”

“Where did you buy it? I’ve been looking for a year.”

“I got it from Dogel. Blind auction for rare volumes, old issues from different countries.”

“Lucky. Too bad Muzishiro barely does signing events now.”

“I was hoping he’d at least visit the US. I want to yell at him in person and get my volume signed. Now I’m stuck watching Anime Direct’s interview. They don’t even allow live comments, and considering how big their show is, they should.”

“I know, right? I’m in Japan and even I can’t watch his interview live. The seats they filled for the interview were instantly sold out. Like, I just opened the website and it was filled. I blinked, and in the next second it showed sold out. Like, what are they doing? I tried to get a secondhand ticket but no one is selling. I hope someone in the audience yells on behalf of all the fans.”

“I guarantee you most people are waiting for him to show his face so they can attack him. I think they will tear him apart in the Q&A.”

“Saturday can’t come fast enough. I swear, I hope someone in the audience asks the question that will finally put my mind at ease.”

As new Code Geass and Muzishiro fans were waiting for Saturday to arrive, for the past month he hadn’t shown his face to the public for quite some time now, and everyone was ready to ask questions.

Saturday

For the past four days, Haruki had been drawing manga and preparing for the interview. Mika, who worked in image marketing, was helping him with the basics, mostly what not to say, and the rest she suggested was that for his first time, it was better to show a more neutral personality. After that, he would gradually learn how to handle interaction based on his own personality.

Today at 7 PM, the interview would be held at the Anime Direct building, which was an hour’s drive from his apartment.

Right now it was 4:00 PM, and Mika had also arranged his clothes. Today he would be wearing a deep burgundy suit. After working with Mika, he realized how much he actually needed a whole team at his stage, even if he made public appearances only two or three times a year. So he added that to his to-do list. But this would be handled by his manager later, so nothing to worry about. He just needed to find a good manager.

After getting ready, he headed downstairs where the car was waiting for him, the one Anime Direct had sent to pick him up.

As he got inside the car, he was reading the final cue cards that Mika had prepared, what to do so he wouldn’t forget, and also the structure of how the interview was going to be held, which he had already learned from her.

The interview would be done in front of a live audience and also streamed live, but the online viewers wouldn’t participate. This was a more organized and professional show. They would introduce everyone, then ask questions, mostly for Kazuya and him, since this would be their first time participating. After that, they would ask about Code Geass, and lastly, questions from the live audience attending the interview.

As he was reading, before he realized it, they arrived at the studio.

As he entered the floor, there were cameras everywhere. The assistant guided him to the makeup room, where they gave him some light makeup. Wes, Kazuya, and Masafumi had already arrived.

He was the last to arrive. After finishing his makeup and sitting with the rest of them in the lounge, some time passed before they were finally called onto the set.
