One thing that I have been really thinking about is the smithing aspect. Your protagonist is a blacksmith, so I think that should be a pretty core component.
The main aspect of smithing will be for creating/upgrading weapons & armour.
So this is where I am at a bit of a crossroads for chest loot/rewards.
I don't think I want Armour or Weapons to be found or rewarded, however, I don't want it just be to resources involved in making or upgrading equipment.
SO! What I'm thinking is having like foundational, base components, or maybe blueprints of equipment be found.
That way, the component and reward is still important, but leads back to smithing.
Or maybe, they are upgrades for Anni the Anvil? Link Here

2025-05-27 03:28:53 +0000 UTCLittle late to this but going on from one of your previous posts(side quest rewards) I think instead of having side quests just give you armor, and stuff full I think having the quest give out the ore/blueprint/pieces of the armor (or even like keys) to use for this crafting method. That way the more quests (be it the side quests relate to one another or not) they will tend to go on more side quests for items, and would make more use of this forge!

2025-05-13 03:39:25 +0000 UTCAs far as the anvil upgrades i have some thought two upgrades would be hole related as a real ancilnhet a hardy hole for tools and a pritchel hole for extra hands and holds so it can be encorperated as access to new holes experances😈 another would be a hard top because anvils were softer backnin the day so a hard top allows for harder alloies to be used also horns for curves
