Gift of Hedone Poll: Affinity & Class Advantages & Disadvantages

I just wanted to do a poll about what you think the advantages and disadvantages of class matching and affinity matching should be.
For example - you go up against a sub class you are strong against, but the affinity you are weak to, or maybe you are strong against both the affinity and sub class.
Which Option do you think suits the advantages & disadvantages the most:
Option 1:
The type match of the subclass affects the Attack, and the type match of the affinity affects the Defense
Option 2:
The type match of the subclass affects the Defense, and the type match of the affinity affects the Attack
I'm also always open to suggestions! So if you don't like either or you have another idea, feel free to message or or comment below :)

I love this logic tbh. Your weapon determines your attack, but your subclass teaches you how to defend is a perfect option. A demon hunter shouldn't have a buffed attack using garlic on a succubus, but they'd have the skill to defend against one. And a ranger shouldn't get buffed defense fighting skeletons, but their holy bow should do more damage.

2025-04-03 01:53:58 +0000 UTCPretty tricky both make sense in their own way. On one hand imagine: You are a firefighter with a waterhose batteling a fire. Your wateraffinity (the hose) is strong against the fire And because of your sub-class (Firefighter) you know how to avoid the flames alongside with your equipment protecting you. On the other hand: A demon hunter fighting a demon… is pretty self-explanatory.
