[POLL] [IMPORTANT!] Potential Word Reward Changes! Please Read!
Added 2025-06-09 20:38:33 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I've been mulling over a few changes to how I do word/commission discount rewards, and I figured I would make a poll to see if people are interested.
As things work right now, I give commission discounts to Doe and up Patrons, along with flat word count rewards to Antelope and up Patrons. I'm considering consolidating both systems into a flat word count reward system, with a spreadsheet to track what each of my Patrons has stored up. If anyone here is familiar with ScottC's Calico Rewards system, I imagine it working somewhat similarly to that; except instead of redeeming for art, you would be redeeming it for free words on a commission. For example:
Right now, a 3000 word commission from me would be $246. If someone had 1000 words to redeem, it would cut it down to 2000 words being actually charged, or $164.
I wouldn't actually be moving things between price tiers (example again, a 3000-word short story can't become a 1500-word quickie by redeeming 1500 words), but I think it's a good way to consolidate things (and it's kind of what I've been doing with my highest tier Patrons for a while anyway), as well as extending benefits to more Patrons!
Here's the word reward scheme I've come up with:
Doe - 20 words / month
Buck - 50 words / month
Moose - 200 words / month
Antelope - 500 words / month [unchanged]
Reindeer - 1500 words / month [unchanged]
I'd maintain the spreadsheet monthly. I haven't been getting a lot of people actually using their commission discounts, so I hope this would incentivize more people - but let me know what you think, both Patrons and non-Patrons!
