Updates: For Everything?

Hey everyone,

I’ll use this post to talk about some general updates. If you’re not interested, no worries – I just uploaded some new comics you might enjoy.

If you’re wondering about the context of this image, apart from successfully replicating my new style, it shows some characters we’ve seen before but reimagined. For now, I love how this character turned out. Let me know in the comments if you recognize which old drawing this references.

Hint: It’s from one of my earliest drawings.

🐘 Let’s address the elephant in the room:

The April Comic

Believe me, I want this comic to come out as soon as possible. As you know, this is the only comic I haven’t finished apart from this month’s (which also got delayed and put on standby due to multiple setbacks).

This comic has two combined parts because the idea of Frieren as a werewolf tied in perfectly with the corruption theme, and I wanted to merge both concepts. It’s not that it was hard to draw – I’ve drawn longer comics before – but when I had the lineart almost finished, the file got corrupted. Several files got corrupted, which delayed me even more because I had to restart the entire comic from scratch. The same happened with some commissions.

My biggest loss, though, was a book where I kept everything about my art (yeah, what a surprise, I know). It had notes on how I draw eyes, shading colors, structures, and more… but I’ll talk about that later.

The point is: I had to redo many things, and life doesn’t stop, so I had to prioritize commissions in general. That’s why I’ve been working more slowly. If I can, this upcoming week I’ll recreate the comic the best I can but using my new art style. I’m sorry if you subscribed specifically for that comic. I’ve been trying to keep content coming despite these delays. I hope you can forgive me for this situation.

🎨 Art Style

Speaking of the other elephant in the room: my current art style.

I’ve read your comments, and you’re right – it’s ultimately my decision. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know my style is never stable; I tend to experiment every month. But what changed this time?

Two main things:

I decided to let my Patreon supporters vote to see if they liked it or if it was just me at 3 AM thinking it was great. Turns out, they loved it. So, the upcoming commissions will use this new style. I hope you enjoy it too.

📜 Lore

My favorite topic – the lore behind my “original” characters.

Many of them are reinventions, recreations, or redesigns I’ve done over the years. The character above, for example, only shares a few traits with the “original” version I created.

I plan to make some comics explaining how all these characters connect. Believe me, I’m holding back from telling you everything about this world, which I’ve been building in my mind for so long. Every day, I invent something new for it.

Here’s a bit of context:

Lore Within the Comics

The world where these characters live is not normal in any sense. Everything that grows here changes your appearance. All food transforms you – it’s transform or starve, your choice. That’s the central point of the Dead Worlds Multiverse.

Every character you’ve seen in my comics exists here. Instead of disappearing, they’re sent to these planets. Luck, Lucy, Cherry, and others you haven’t seen elsewhere were born here, which makes them naturally adept at transformation, unlike the outsiders. They spend their days surviving in the enigmatic city of Change City.

That’s all you need to know for now. If these lore comics are well-received, I’ll share more stories from this place. I might publish the previous Luck comic with the new style on DeviantArt soon, so stay tuned.

💼 Commissions

Yes, I’ve had several commissions lately – more than usual. Why? Times have been a bit hectic. I don’t usually share this with clients because it wouldn’t look professional. And for what it’s worth, I’m not in a position to refuse commissions.

The good news? I’m almost done with most of them, so only the new ones will remain. If you’re commissioning me right now, thank you so much. Thanks to people like you, I can keep creating art, which I love doing. I started three years ago and never regretted it – maybe only regretted not starting earlier. Seeing people happy with my work is priceless (apart from the commission cost itself, of course).

Thank you all. None of this would be possible without you.

🕘 Updates

I hope I didn’t bore you with this long post, but I felt it was necessary to explain a few things.
