Can’t remember if I had told you but this was set in the same universe as District 9 (and Elysium) with the same director and some actors. So if Chappie sounded familiar it’s because Sharlto Copley plays him - the guy who became the fokkin prawn in D9! Yolandi and Ninja Visser are their real names - they are a crazy hip hop group called Die Antwoord and a lot of times the shouty “music” in the background is theirs!
