2026-03-19 19:00:19 +0000 UTCPoor Lilly just keeps adding new reasons for people to want to mess with her. Glyph regulators/professionals when she starts trying to break their monopoly. Nobles who want the magic bunny and dragon duo. Her deadbeat dad who will probably want to reconnect now that his daughter isn’t a “worthless cripple.” And the new one! The crystal badgers are going to be really upset if she messes with their livelihood defining monopoly. Thankfully, the most dominant religion is probably going to want to keep the fist and only apostle of the god of magic safe once they know she exists. Course, not sure what Purity can actually do to help, based on how she’s changed from the prologue, but since they are still kicking it’s got to be something at least. I know it doesn’t suit her personality or goals, but she could also stay on with regarth as a researcher/teacher after she graduates.

2026-03-19 08:12:39 +0000 UTCSome drama is inevitable, even in more lighthearted stories, BBB is more grounded and "realist" than SYL in some ways, so as much as I don't believe there will be some great plot to assassinate Lily, I do believe there will be some repercussions once it gets out

2026-03-19 08:10:25 +0000 UTCLily is really underestimating the danger. If their clan's wealth depends entirely on a crystal monopoly, then this piece of knowledge will destroy them. And if they learn early that Lily is the *only* one who knows it? I'm not sure I could even blame them for sending an assassin or two. Not sure the story would actually go that direction though. BB's story is considerably more easy-going than Syl.
