Welcome to Seaside Paradise Motel

"...where the beach is infinite, and the sunset never comes."

IMAGE SOUNDTRACK

You ever have those dreams that stick to your brain forever, like you just don't lose the clarity of the vision, no matter what? I have many of those, and this piece is based on one that I had maybe about 10 years ago. Some of the fine details are probably different, like the choice of toys, or the lantern and bench designs (though the general style is there), but overall this is probably the most accurate depiction of a dream I made so far. The only thing that's changed is the character.

See, there was instead this dude who looked a lot like a non-stylized Mr. Clean mascot after he got a bit older, retired, and decided he no longer cares about cleaning, because he realized there's more to life than that. He was apparently waiting for me in this sandbox, sitting in the same pose as Jinjing-Yu there. Except THANKFULLY he was wearing light blue shorts with white, vertical stripes, a white summer hat, and some surfer-flavored necklaces. When I approached, he invited me in and somehow communicated, perhaps wordlessly, that he is about to teach me a lesson of absolute zen - just masterful chill - and I knew it was true. It sounds silly, as dreams tend to do to anyone but the dreamer, but it really felt (and still feels) like I met a god of chill. I sat down in the sand by the left edge, near the toys, and felt the calmest I ever have. To my right (behind you in the pic; the building was U-shaped), down a patch of more of that too-well-kept grass, on a gentle, downward hill, there was a beach. Completely devoid of people, but with some typical beach items here and there: chairs, umbrellas, towels, toys, drink coolers - all seemingly left behind quickly, but peacefully. I was watching the nearing sunset - blue and yellow, with hints of green, as the sun barely peeked from behind the bright clouds. I don't remember much else from this dream, but I do remember that I wanted to stay there forever. I haven't stopped thinking about it to this day, so I guess in some sense, I didn't really leave, eh? Thank you, Mr. Chill, for sharing your wisdom with me.

Posting this one in full size for all Patrons, hope it helps.
Enjoy. <3

I can relate to this really well. I had a dream some years back that elicited the same kind of peace and zen that you're describing here. It really sticks with you. And I can really feel it looking at this as well.
