Get your strips! (paper weaving reminder)
Added 2024-12-17 06:02:41 +0000 UTCI can't tell you how many times I've waffled on titling this post "strip time"... but erred on the side of caution, lest an email preview removed the context or bounced this for indecent content.
Friday's party still promises to be entertaining, in an adorably wholesome way.
This is a quick reminder to y'all that we have our first TCV create/craft-together party on Friday, 12/20 at 1:00 PM MST. If you want to make something along with me, you'll need paper.
You can cut strips on your own, but if you'd like pre-cut and easier to weave strips, you might consider purchasing some from a store nearby or Amazon. I just got this adorable Christmas tartan pattern that I know will make Kirk smile: https://a.co/d/eeh27Qs
If you're looking for stuff delivered AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and need some general guidelines to follow, look for strips in these sizes:
1/4" strips are 19" long & make 1" stars
3/8" strips are 19" long & make 1.5" stars
1/2" strips are 19" long & make 2" stars
5/8" strips are 23" long & make 2.5" stars
3/4" strips are 26" long & make 3" stars (recommendation for beginners.)
1" strips are 39" long & make 4" stars
At any paper store ask for ¾” wide 25” long strips of 20lb colored paper (both sides colored).
Tell them the paper is for weaving and folding.
Huge thank you to Robert Kleinschmidt, who will be guiding us in creating our paper stars.
Hope you'll join in the fun - or at least just join us and make the socializing fun for all!
Bests,
Elizabeth

Why is stripping indecent? You must be American 😜 When I read stripping I read removing paint in first instance. Just something I noticed. To all of you, happy holidays from the Netherlands. Erik
