Kickstarter Campaign Advice - Your Answers Needed!

Hello lovelies!

Thank you to everyone that joined the live stream yesterday. I gained a lot of insight into where many of you are at, and how pumped you are for the next phase in vocal research!

Kirk and I put together a ranking survey with the current Kickstarter options listed. Would each of you be able to jump in, rank each of the options in terms of how valuable you perceive them to be and submit?

We're planning to do two live streams on Tuesday on YouTube to poll the larger community, and having your initial feedback here will help shape that discussion.

Thank you all so much!

Bests,
Elizabeth

Side note: On mobile, this tool is a little finicky. When you tap an option onto the master ranking list, use the arrow keys on the side (and watch what number it's being ranked at). I know this tool is working on fixing that, but... you know.

I have some audio recordings from a cpl decades ago, singing with my dad's band during some live shows. The sound guy(s) were HORRIFIC, ngl. And the entire band may, or may not have been entirely UNsober during these performances. However, I'm willing to take one for the team, if you have the ability to adjust the sound quality... 🫣🤘🏽🤣 @TheCharismaticVoice

Perhaps you could get your participating vocalists to contribute some “experimental” track of theirs that they’d be willing to share. The resulting compilation CD could be used as a benefit to the kickstarter, or sold separately as a fundraiser. Or I suppose both. The CD would also provide some additional exposure to your cause. Perhaps you could start your own label, as it seems you never have enough on your plate.😉

I am in agreement with a video. We have become a people without the patience to read. It's unfortunate but true. Visual is the better way I believe. I don't mind reading, however I am currently working with many millennial and they want instant gratification, so reading something technical really isn't an option for them. No offense anyone. It's just an observation. I'm 58 and work with so many that could be my children. Again, no offense to you youngsters out there. Heck, I'm to old to sit down and read a lengthy document, LOL.

I did my selections, I dont think a pdf would be useful to me. I would think it would be quite technical and I wouldn't be able to follow along with it.

I guess patrons will have different priorities than people outside the TCV community 😊 Also since this platform requires benefits to be offered, it makes no economic sense to offer 1 or 2 USD tiers. In my opinion, if you get something in return, you should be prepared to give a little more. And that's how I see the supporters.

E, I was thinking about damage to voices, what about prescription drugs? I was prescribed the high blood pressure medication Lisinopril and it caused me to loose my voice through an allergic reaction. Even after changing to a different medication, my voice has never fully recovered. There could be a common ingredient to blood pressure medications that could be the underlying factor.

This is so cool. I'm really excited to see how you do and wish you all the best! I've run fundraising campaigns for my shorts films in the past - it's a lot of work in itself. I was also vice president of a 501c3 for about four years and essentially ran their fiscal sponsorship program! Sorry I missed the live stream - I don't know if it was recorded? If there's any way I can help out please let me know.

MDR

Tax benefits on American 501c3 donations only apply to tax payers in the US, unless there's a special agreement between Germany and the US, but you'd have to consult a tax consultant. My experience is that unless you're donating a significant amount it gets too complicated (and thus, expensive) really fast to be worth it.

MDR

Another thing. When I donate to the Red Cross here in Germany I can get some of this money back from my tax. Would that be possible with the 501c3 status of this campaign?

Oliver Rauh

I think I may have been too literal and ranked the full list. Yes, I am an idiot! :P D'oh. Doing this right after work was not my best decision. Hee Hee! Hey- I'm in for the science anyway! #ForScience!

More than anything, would love to read the results of your research (so #1 choice). And second Oliver Rauh's comment. I selected several other things of interest. Good luck with the campaign!!!
