We're going to hold another live chat tomorrow with the same topic as Wednesday: extended vocal technique, and when you find it most effective. Extended vocal technique is anything beyond regular clean singing, for example: harsh vocals, screaming, tuvan throat singing, burps.

New here, but wanted to suggest a reaction. Yes' "Close to the Edge" tops a lot of lists for "Best Progressive Rock song (and also album). The song itself is an entire album side, much like Rush's 2112. But it is their most epic and adventurous piece with incredible vocals and musicianship. A true "journey" song. If you react to it, definitely go for the album rather than live version because the original drummer (now a music professor at Surrey) left the band after recording the album, and he was key. Has over 10 albums, tons of awards mostly for blues. Is listed in a GUITAR MAGAZINE top 47 blues guitarist of all time, only female on list. Elisabeth has been paying more attention to guitar playing and I think she would be super impressed, and with her singing.
