Mid-Month Check In ("Where's The Content?")

So, it's the 15th and there's no audios yet. Why is that?

As mentioned in a post about my Top 5 audios of 2025, I have been focused on writing and making improvements to my speed and workflow. There's really never a great time to do this sort of thing, because it takes days-to-weeks to do properly, but the top of the year is as good a time as any, and all relevant changes are in place. Last year, barely I kept up. This year want to be a consistent operation prepared for anything.

What's The Goal?

I want to get back to making weekly content starting in February. The upload day will change each month (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday) based on the last day of the month is to make room for a monthly "big" upload on the 30th/31st (or 28th for that one stupid month). A big upload is in this case defined by an audio over 6 minutes in length, and/or featuring 3+ characters in a lead role. In total, 4-5 audios a month - 2 for the Instant-Ramen tier, and 2-3 for the Shoyu tier.

I currently have eight scripts on hand, six of which were written in the last fifteen days. That sets me up well for the coming months. I have also set up a workflow for thumbnail artists to view projects ahead of time and delegate who will draw which thumbnails.

Shoyu Audio Planning

Umamusume: Team Spica's Got the Trots was a relatively safe bet for a project to go all in on, and it was helpfully offset by friends and patrons. Which is to say, it wasn't that big of a risk. The first "Big Project" of this year is one I feel comfortable betting on. But otherwise? I do not know what's popular, or what many of you might want most of the time.

To clarify, this means that one Shoyu audio will be determined through suggestions, while the other will be ideas I am personally passionate about. The third audio will be either a commission or a self-funded project of a smaller scale.

Coming This Month

I've made a pretty hard decision regarding the Gabriel Dropout audio, which is to hold it until the holiday season. I know, it's a long wait. But audios featuring more niche characters struggle to gain attention, and only during the festive season would such an audio feel appropriate to release. It will be done well in advance, and everyone who contributed to funding it will get to hear it early.

Midnight and Mt. Lady, the first backlog audio, and this month's big project will be dropping on their respective deadline days, which is looking to be Monday this month.

The HotRamenAudios.com News Feed

I am working a news feed feature on HotRamenAudios.com, where you can check updates at any time. If the site expansion proves to be too expensive or limited for the time being, I may host the News Feed as a read-only Discord. There, you can check updates on your own time, listen to previews, and view/save artwork as not-WebPs.

Additional Updates

Production on the Video version of Zhu Yuan is underway. I won't be posting any early previews here, but we're getting to work. As expected, Button is able to better organize with an audio to work with, so the Zhu Yuan comic is already boarded.

Speaking of, the Hatsune Miku comic is also progressing well. The audio is being edited, and the video version is at 180 panels and climbing. It's still in greyscale, and several panels, while drawn out, are unfinished. I suspect Button would kill me if I showed you anything from it... Buuuut since we cut this panel from the ending it's probably fine to show in its current state. Paywalled for being even mildly suggestive.
