UPDATED June Roadmap & Project Updates

UPDATE: As always, it's worth remembering that what I do is a living organism, so to speak. I'll be shuffling my schedule around a tiny but in anticipation of the video player, which is now in progress! Samus will be my priority for the moment, but I will continue to work on Konosuba and Persona 5 in the background!

Greetings! Though May was one audio short, I'd consider it a rousing success overall! Sadly, there was no way I could have completed Konosuba in time, as the Megumin VA's microphone cord broke. Her equipment is fixed and she says she can get the Megumin lines in this coming week, so here's hoping that's the case!

June 1st: Suggestion Box Polls go live at 9:00 PM EST.

This will be the first time we do three separate polls to, ideally, create more even seeding. Those polls will be for Solo, Couples, and Group. This seeding makes the most sense, as it avoid ideas where the most characters win due to perceived "bang for your buck" value, and it allows less popular ideas to potential win out due to a more favorable bracket.

The Motion Comic poll goes live at 9:00 PM EST as well. Ideas have been vetted by Pal based on his interest.

I've swapped the order for the Persona 5 and Konosuba audios. While doing take selection for the Konosuba audio, it's way too similar to the Smash audio and I need a change of pace or I'll burn out on it and the alts. In order to get P5 done, it will be my main focus (it has 5 characters and is likely to be the longest audio I've done outside of ShyLily, which had far less sound work).

June 1st - June 7th: Persona 5 audio goes live. Featuring @MacStarVA as Morgana, @LecheryAmoreVA as Ann, @GeminiStarsign1 as Futaba, @lheartvoiceover as Makoto, and introducing @ShennyChwan as Haru!

June 8th - June 14th: The Konosuba audio goes live. Featuring @MacStarVA as Aqua, @AmeAfterDark as Megumin, and @lheartvoiceover as Darkness.

June 15th - June 21st: Zhu Yuan audio goes live. Featuring @AmeAfterDark as Zhu Yuan and @ShennyChwan as Nicole.

June 22nd - June 30th: Hatsune Miku motion comic goes live. The Miku audio will feature another new (to us) VA, @MIKO_DESH, as Hatsune Miku. She's a fluent Japanese speaker with strong English speaking skills, an East Asian accent, and she even knew the lyrics to Melt and Ai Kotoba. Portraying Hatsune Miku is difficult, and I wrote a very challenging script, one that nearly every other VA turned the role down, fearing they couldn't give an appropriate performance. I want to commend the original Miku VA, LHeartVoiceOver, for her great line reads as Miku, and clarify this decision has more to do with Miko_Desh's superior grasp of Japanese than LHeartVoiceOver's unquestionable acting and singing talent.

You may notice the Samus animatic is not listed here. That's because it's upload is dependent on when the video player for hotramenaudios.com is implemented. CrimsonSFM is currently away. When he returns I'll give the Samus project a concrete release date. Just know that it can come out any time this month.

On the subject of other projects...

• I decided to get artwork for the Konosuba audio after all. Here's a sketch by @MoonsObsessions.

It's already done, but you won't get to see the full piece until the audio releases.

While I'm at it, here's the Persona 5 sketch. This one's also done but you don't get the full piece yet!

Aaaaand a little bonus. @OddTenn approached me with interest in doing the Alice in Wonderland thumbnail! Here she is, in all of her clearly-nineteen majesty, and in the style of the original film!

• I have a cute little Sanhua (Wuthering Waves) reward audio going up tonight. It's only 60 seconds long, but I hope you will enjoy it all the same!

• Uzaki-Chan is going to be a major priority this week as well. It's not too intensive of an edit, so I feel confident I can get it done.

• The Kobeni script just needs to be formatted for the VAs to receive their direction. I've been swamped, but I will make time for it.

• Lines are out for the Kill La Kill burgers audio. @MamaStrassa (Satsuki) has delivered her vocals, and @AmeAfterDark (Ryuko) is set to deliver hers on Monday. @MacStarVA (Mako) has her lines, but there's an estimated 1-2 week waiting period, so it's unlikely you'll hear that one until mid-June.

• I have been hitting the pavement hard searching for VAs. One of the hardest to track down was a woman with a deeper, huskier voice. While I've never said so publicly, some projects I've been a little coy about pursuing since I did not have a satisfying VA to do it. In particular, Frieren. However, I've found a VA named @TheVoiceVixxen who is enthusiastic to work with me. She's sent a sample of herself as Frieren and it sounded great, so I'm going to see about getting a Frieren audio back on track. I'd like to redo the script, as I thought the original was fairly weak. She's also the priciest VA, so I will need to get an estimate for the vocals before I move forward.
