We've missed you guys, and we know that y'all (understandably) have a lot of questions about the future of SuperMega. We wanna take a moment to give y’all an official update on the state of things.
So, first and foremost, what is the future of SuperMega?
Well, to rip off the band-aid, the truth is that we do not have any definitive plans, one way or another, about the future of SuperMega. We've been asking ourselves many of the same questions that you've been asking us over the last few weeks. In our eyes, it would not be right for us to continue to put new content on the channel without genuinely reflecting on our past and contemplating what we want for the future. This could mean resuming the channel in the future, taking a lengthy hiatus, or deciding to say goodbye for good. We simply haven't had enough time to process everything and come to a decision that feels right for our fans, our loved ones, and our mental health. We know that the lack of a concrete decision will be disappointing to some, and we really do apologize for this.
Well... now what?
We've seen lots of requests for us to make our completed, but unreleased content, available on our Patreon. We felt it was only right to show the people still supporting us on this page what we had been up to. Over the next day or so, we will be posting the final pieces of content that remain in our reserves. This will include some of the projects that we had been working on, our finished videos that we never got to release, and some updates about what our plans were. We hope that by releasing this behind-the-scenes look at stuff, y’all can see that we were truly more excited about SuperMega than ever, and we couldn’t wait to show everyone what we were cooking up in this new chapter ahead. We are so grateful for all of you who continue to support us through your Patreon subscriptions, and we please ask that you do not share this content on other platforms.
Bottom line, we wanted to provide some additional content for those who are supporting us through a Patreon subscription. We understand that you might choose not to maintain your Patreon subscription, but for those who choose to stick around after the curtain call, whether for access to all the content or simply to just show support, we appreciate it beyond belief. Regardless of your choice, thank you to those who are currently, or ever were in the past, a subscriber, a patron, or just a fan of the dumb shit we made. We appreciate you more than you'll ever know.
Without you guys, we wouldn’t have been able to spend so many years creating and having fun. It’s been a hell of a ride up to this point, and you’ve given two dumbasses from South Carolina the ultimate gift of allowing us to share our lives, content, and friendship with you while getting to do our favorite thing in the world - create. For this, we will always be immensely grateful. Should any decisions be made moving forward, we'll make sure to share them openly. However, for now, we're signing off.

That campaign lost all fuel relatively quickly as people started putting two and two together and contradictions were highlighted. It's a damn shame it hit SM like it has. You boys are sorely missed. I’ve seen a portion of the fan base asking for your return and while we all love your content we have to understand that you two are actively experiencing some level of mental trauma as a result of all of this. Everyone goes through struggles, and those who persevere grow and build character. You guys are shining examples of rising from the ashes. I've witness these two small time youtubers go through heartbreaks and turmoil time and time again, and through it all came out as better and stronger people. You may speak humbly of yourselves and possess many regrets I'm sure, but I'm hard pressed to say I don't know many other youtubers (or many people for that matter) that are genuine and show humility. Acknowledge your mistakes, but realize you're not lesser people by any means. I feel there's still a future where SuperMega can endure and move past this chapter in their life and even possess motivation stronger than ever before. You all are an inspiration to me, not just creatively but in a funny way, maturely as well. I beg, don't let your influential legacy end here, not after all you have achieved, and certainly not before all you have yet achieve.

And even if mistakes were made I can see that both of you had good intentions and neither of you wanted to hurt anyone. I know all of those hate messages in that period probably made the situation so much more stressful, and to see your fans saying they would never trust you again. I can only imagine. I tried to refrain from saying anything nasty in response at that time because I wanted to hear your sides of the story, but I will admit I did post a couple mean spirited jokes at your expense here and there in places like Reddit and Twitter. And for that I apologize. I hope I didn't contribute to any sort of distress you two may have had. For what it's worth I also never unsubscribed because, like I said, I wanted to see what you two had to say and it turned out it did make a huge difference. All that said, I hope you two return because I really enjoyed everything you two made. But if it's not right for you then I totally understand. I can always at least look back on your work with admiration and respect knowing that you two tried your best to do the right thing. I've been a fan of you for 7 years now, and always loved watching/listening to your podcasts, songs, sketches, let's plays... everything you've put out has been funny and a cherished part of my week. This last month without you boys has been sad, but I can't imagine the amount of stress and trauma you 2 have been through. The plans you've been working on now may have fallen through, but I really hope that you are are able to eventually find your feet, figure out a path forwards and come back. I know that's no small feat after all of this, but you two have been to hell and back before, so I have faith you'll be able to come back again. Until you come to any final decision I'll continue to support you. if only to let you know that the world isn't your enemy, and that you have many people here that love and support you, even through mistakes or errors of judgement. The angle that *certain people* approached this whole situation from was completely inappropriate and you guys were undeservingly villainized. We all understand that time off will help you two heal, but know that we'll all be waiting here for you with open arms, if/when you decide to come back. If nothing else, thanks for the laughs and everything else.

I was one of the people who initially reacted negatively when everything first started coming out, and I don't think there are enough words to adequately apologize. I don't consider myself parasocial (the length of this comment probably begs to differ), but just witnessing everything happen in real time has been utterly heartbreaking. It is so clear now how much y'all were dedicating yourselves to SuperMega and doing your best to create content and improve. I don't think anyone sane can fault you for being uncertain of the future or taking time for yourselves. I personally didn't expect a response any time soon, and when I saw the Youtube upload I somehow instinctively knew that there was still no answer. I’ve been going through a tough time with my own mental health and super mega helped me forget about everything for a little while and laugh. I think it’s very adult of you guys if you do any actual soul searching and make better decisions in the future. I’ve relistened to the podcast countless times (but if it wasn’t countless it’d be like 10 or 11 since 2018) and every time I’ve listened it’s like going back through my life, remembering each event and relationship Id ever been in. Friends that have been and gone, leaving school, starting college, getting a job, looking to further my careers elsewhere and even moving countries. Everyone one of these things has had a podcast that released that same week. Although my breath spells like posies, I’m still talking out of my ass at the end of the day and it sounds ridiculous talking about 2 YouTubers like this but thinking back on it all really puts it into perspective the presence super mega had in my life and will continue to have when I relisten to the podcast another time that will also be countless. I feel lost without the routine of a new podcast episode to listen to every week… the poop jokes and dumb bits have been the background sound of my life for a long, long time and I really miss it.
