i get that but ryan said his response was his "last video" and that he "doesnt deserve a platform" and if thats how he feels, thats fine. its his decision to stop, but they should at least be a bit more clear about it to the people who pay for their content. he barely even touched on that, he just nonchalantly mentioned it like it was nothing. matt never even mentioned it, so like, is supermega done? or are they just taking a break? thats all i wanna know. i dont wanna pay money for a dead patreon and i know i could just unsub but the reason i didnt is because they didnt really give the most clear explanation about the future of the channel. i get why they didnt, they didnt wanna make the SA situation about themselves. but its been long enough for them to at least say "hey, we're coming back at some point, just not right away" or "supermega is dead". the only thing happening now is fans theorizing and muddying the waters. they should just give an official statement. or shut down the patreon. the fact that theyre keeping it going means theyre just as unsure of the future of supermega as the fans and that doesnt make sense at this point.

Resubbed to the Patreon after beung unsubbed for a goid while. I know a *lot* of people have left the Patreon, and I don't know if supermega is coming back, but for all the years of positivity and laughter that I've gotten from supermega, I wanted to give back and show my support in a time where I feel like they could really use it. I've had a long time to think about and process the situation, and rewatch both Matt and Ryan's response videos a few times, and I think they got a real raw fucking deal. They're not perfect, but they don't deserve all this hate. Did they fuck up? Sure, but who hasn't. Of all the people shitting on them, how many of them are perfect? They're two young guys, not even in their 30's yet. They never committed any crimes, and at worst I still genuinely think their actions are forgiveable. This was all a shitty situation that ultimately came down to a lot of social shit we really shouldn't have even been privy to. How are they supposed to grow from this if people won't even give them a chance? Honestly the only thing I'm upset about anymore is the lack of transparency. They haven't said if this is the end or not, and I think a lot of people are silently waiting, and unless they say something people will just keep waiting while everyone who's already made up their mind just keeps dunking on them. Well, I've made up my mind. I want them to have another chance, if they'll take it. It's obviously gonna take time for them to earn trust again, and a lot of people are still gonna hate them, but I genuinely believe this is something they can come back from if they choose to. And anyone who disagrees hasn't been watching the same guys I have for years; I can say that much. These two boys have my support, in any way that I can, because parasocial or not the positive impact they've had on my life *is* real, and I'll never forget it.

Your podcast has gotten me through the most traumatic moments of my life, I come from an abusive home and at the beginning of this year I lost my uncle to liver cancer. Addiction runs rampant in my family and I am no exclusion. Shortly after I went into a addiction counseling group where I was discharged for not being able to sub-stain i was driving late one night back from work and contemplated driving off the freeway. I took a breathe and put on something to just fill the silence in my car as I spaced out parked. I saw u guys had meatcanyon on and I’ve never gone from sobbing tears of sorrow to shedding tears from laughter. I know you guys are joking a lot of the time but you guys being open about stuff as simple as trying to quit vaping and your struggles with withdrawals or your candidacy with your mental health. Seeing the people I look up to struggle and persevere with things as heavy as what you have all been through is what I respect and admire the most from you guys. How you never stop laughin no matter how mean the world gets. You guys never stopped despite the challenges of life and that inspires me to keep going. Put a magnifying glass over anything and its faults grow. Despite what so many might say you guys aren’t monsters or creeps. You guys are the funniest channel on that site and haven’t even hit ur peak it’d be a genuine tragedy if that humor was gone for good. I think everyone is accepting of the fact that they may decide to not be content creators moving forward, but are here to support them if/when they continue. I personally believe this is going to be a hiatus, which they should take to get help, and may take a few months or a year at the worst. I do agree that this sounds very fishy though, especially if you prefer cancel culture instead of going to the cops. This was never our business, and the fact her and Leighton are monitizing it and streaming about "the fall of Supermega" with no proof to suggest they are speaking the truth, makes me seem that this was more of an attention grab hidden behind the guise of what may have been a true or false SA allegation. This cancel culture BS kills careers. To put this culture in perspective, 25% of Death Row inmates are exonerated by DNA evidence in the US (I would provide the link to this statistic but I learned it in a uni Criminology course, I think it may be yearly but don't quote me on it). We've KILLED people who didn't commit crimes because we did not provide sufficient evidence to prove otherwise. It should be innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

The thing with Lex is we don't know the true story; like I don't trust Don at the moment, but she did lie about things so what if she had stretched the truth? I don't trust her either. It is a he said/she said. Not my place to say, or our place to say at all though, I just hope she gets the help she needs to get better. I finally became a Patreon so I could support these two little rascals. Back about 10 years ago I saw a funny music video called "Wet with Regret," and now I'm replying to a podcast titled "The Arctic Pussies." I guess life really is like a box of chocolates. The fact that you both had to dedicate considerable portions of your response to acknowledging irrelevant/unfounded speculation, rather than the genuine issue of how you initially handled things with Lex and Don is upsetting. Lex is completely in the right for talking about Don's SA and how she felt Matt and Ryan mishandled it, but nothing that she endured excuses her extrapolation into things concerning their private lives. It muddied the water of what is a serious issue that should've taken full attention. Obviously, Leighton took issue with his time at SuperMega and he's entitled to his opinion of his experience. But adding to Lex's warranted grievances, to corroborate and then falsify information, and air private information with false context felt incredibly manipulative. Especially disingenuous with this being in direct follow-up to Lex's legitimate complaints. In the end, I think how Matt and Ryan initially responded to the SA incident was disappointing to hear. Understandable that there was hesitancy, as everyone involved were friends, but obviously not excusable. Due to principle alone, I can't lend as much of a charitable take on Ryan talking to fans inappropriately. However, many in the same position would say "I'm allowed to and it's completely legal" or "I didn't know it was morally wrong". I think Ryan, 'no muss, no fuss', admitting that he acted on his own selfish intentions, without trying to pander to some positive self-image at least makes me feel as though Ryan does have the ability to improve from this and be better. Maybe I'm missing something else, but I feel like closing up shop and disappearing isn't completely necessary. Maybe there's more behind the scenes we don't know. Enduring and seeing your general audience's reaction to this. Feeling guilt for wrongdoings. Feeling dread from any lies or unneeded exposure. Maybe it's not an issue of if you guys can continue, but more of if you'd even want to after all of this. Whether you guys decide to continue or not, I hope you find peace and happiness in whatever you do.

Extremely sad to see the boys end it, if it is indeed true. Their videos have been a huge source of comfort to me whenever I've felt lonely, sad, etc. Their videos have always made me laugh and feel better, it feels like I'm just sitting down with a couple of goofy guys shooting the shit and nothing is as serious to me anymore in those moments. This might all seem silly, but their content has been a huge source of my entertainment for those reasons and more, I've always looked forward to new videos. They've been my favorite entertainers for a while now and I've incorporated some of their humor into mine, because it's just fun and comforting to be a complete goofball sometimes. My husband and I will randomly do the "SIR!" bit all the time and it never fails to make us laugh. I know mistakes were made, but I didn't think the boys were beyond redemption, especially after their responses. I just think it's unfortunate that so much was revealed that didn't need to be, and that so many people dogpiled the situation before getting a better perspective. I have no idea what they might be going through right now, it's just all incredibly unfortunate that it came to this. I know I'll continue re-watching older videos, because there is nothing else like them and because they never really get old to me. I just hope the boys are doing alright and that they are able to move on from this without more issues. Take care funny brothers, you were my favorites.

TL; DR - I will support Supermega; please seek therapy to discuss your trauma from this situation. I know the Supermega folks may not read this, but I want to share my thoughts with this community as well. I'm not here to comment on the situation and how I feel about it, but to say I do support you still. I took time to think about whether or not I should support you financially, but after careful consideration of every aspect regarding the situation, I am very convinced that you both have been targeted for something you should not have been targeted for. At the end of the day, you are human. WE are human. You may have done fucked last year, but that is no excuse for the false attacks on your character or your personal lives, your employees, and your relationships after everything had clearly been settled. I've been around since Kids With Problems and Cyndago, as well as your time with Markiplier. Been a Supermega head since the beginning. I did not make this decision to support you through bias, but from what I've seen on all sides, I genuinely believe that there are more victims here due to vindictiveness. I remember Daniel so vividly, I remember how much he made us all smile and laugh, and I am livid his name was used in vain to be weaponized against his closest friends. The passing of a close friend should never be weaponized, that is one of the most scummiest things... Mental illness on all sides is not an excuse: get medication, get therapy, seek help. I urge you to talk to a professional about this situation and I urge you to learn from your mistakes. Donate money to charities that support sexual assault survivors. I have faith you will, WE have faith you will. I struggled with borderline personality disorder, which if left unchecked and mismanaged, can destroy relationships. I do not condone using it as a crutch or an excuse; if I fuck up, it is up to me to resolve the issue. You guys did fuck up a bit, but you did resolve the issue, which was something you never experienced before. You did your best, which in hindsight may have not be the best, but how can you handle something you have never experienced before? Learn from your mistakes and move forward. TLDR for anyone who hasn’t seen the apologies, as well as my personal takes: Ryan seems the least involved. He admitted the Lex stuff was handled poorly, and I agree. He isn’t blameless but this situation tested everyone and was extremely messy on the side of both the victims and everyone else involved. I can firmly say, we judged them too harshly without all the info on that one. The stuff with Leighton NEVER sat right with me. After seeing those receipts, I’m inclined to COMPLETELY agree that everything he’s leveled at them is a flat out lie. Like….bro, what a fucking snake, go fuck yourself Leighton. You make me ashamed to inhabit the same LGBTQ community. Everything involving Matt and Ryan’s personal life, sex life, and girlfriends was WILDLY inappropriate and mostly untrue. After watching their responses, the videos, reasoning, and evidence all makes it seem like most of what was said from Leighton wasn’t entirely true. However, sadly everything said from Lex about her SA is true and how they handled that situation is awful, from both the perspective of a friend and a person of power. Obviously what they did is horrible, but I do not think anything is worth the entire channel and their career ending. It seems more like inaction out of fear and emotional immaturity then them defending a rapist out of the malice of their heart. They generally just seem irresponsible and incapable of running the channel as a business and poorly mix their friends into business legistics causing a lot of issues. Their actions are inexcusable and they absolutely deserve the heat they are getting but I do not believe they are irredeemable or shouldn’t be allowed a second chance with supermega in the future. Even Rav said so in his statement. People can learn and grow and this is not indicative of the type of people they will be forever. It’s more nuanced than it seems and people being parasocial and involving themselves further with hate isn’t helping. The Daniel thing has especially bothered me as I think jokes honeslty aren’t the worst way to deal with grief and highly doubt any of the jokes are actually meant to be genuine jabs at Daniel. Everyone has different ways of coping and anger is a common way, especially from those left behind after a suicide. As far as the edgy jokes/slurs, is anyone actually surprised? It was kind a non-secret they were saying that kinda stuff when they censored bits on the channel. It’s outdated and unfunny but another thing they can grow from. Let them take time off to respond and grow, support lex, Rav and leighton. I just hope they respond genuinely instead of going down needlessly fighting and disputing stuff.

You still have to obtain consent to do that. It’s not just acceptable to use “boys will be boys” as an argument. Even on the podcast and other videos, Matt would sometimes ask if Ryan was serious and didn’t want to see his balls. If that’s a courtesy he extended to Ryan even after doing it for YEARS, there’s really no excuse for not asking, especially the FIRST TIME you meet someone at a job. If Leighton had been asked and afterwards said he didn’t mind, there’s be no issue. He basically said as much. It was moreso how he wasn’t respected and his boundaries were pushed disproportionally than they would do to other employees and each other.

long story short, About a day or two after creator clash 2023, Leighton came out saying that Matt and Ryan were using the fact that he was publicly gay to make homophobic jokes that he wasn’t entirely comfortable with making. He just joined with them because he felt like he had too. He also accused them of making fun of a young fan for attempting suicide. The only thing is, Leighton never posted never evidence for these claims, so a lot of fans, including me sadly, never believed him. But with everything that Lex have mentioned and showed, everything adds up now, including them making fun of suicide. The reason people are upset with Matt and Ryan is because they were told that someone who worked for them committed sexual assault. In no situation should SA be tolerated, ever. As people who own and operate a business, it is absolutely their responsibility to respond to that quickly and seriously. I would also argue that this same response is necessary on a personal level. In addition to failing to do that, they intimidated/manipulated Lex into not speaking up because they were worried about how it would affect their channel/reputation. They made a very conscious decision to not support a survivor of assault for their own interests and benefit.
