Help us determine tier rewards!

Nothing is set in stone because we really would like your guys' feedback on what you think is fair because we've never used Patreon before. We've looked at other artists' Patreon membership structures as well, but sometimes it's a bit all over the place, so we still think it's best to run things by our supporters first!
We couldn't think of what to name the tiers, so they're instead just ordered by Mofu's Top 4 favorite sweets (Mofu very much has a sweet tooth). New things in each tier are italicized.

We won't be offering an exclusive Discord server like a lot of artists do primarily because Mofu only speaks Japanese, so it's simply not possible for me (Korius) to translate everything that's being said. Plus, I don't think people actually care about these kinds of Discord servers. Everyone immediately mutes the server as soon as they join and then gets upset if they're ever pinged, so honestly it feels kind of pointless, especially considering that Mofu's DMs are always open both here on Patreon and on BSky, and we'll never paywall direct communication because we're not so high and mighty to think that people need to pay just to send us a message 😭
One user commented that they'd like free users to also be able to vote on character polls, and while we're not opposed to this, we ended up making it a paid feature because we were worried that the memberships didn't have enough value. If you guys feel otherwise or have other ideas for rewards, please do say something! Again, nothing here is set in stone, so the feedback we get from you guys really does influence our final decision 🙏

It'll definitely be one of those things that take some time to figure out, trying to find a balance between giving members what they want versus drawing things that we personally find compelling. Fortunately, we primarily do fanart so constantly drawing popular characters isn't so bad, though for sure there would be times when we'd want to try drawing fanart of characters that are decidedly less popular just for a change of pace. I dunno, times are really tough for everyone these days, so every dollar people are willing to spend just means that much more, and we don't want to take anyone's generosity for granted!

I am also thrilled you started out with a series of images of Sherlock Hound - maybe my favorite character. Considering my personal budget at this point in time, I would choose the $6 tier. I generally don't feel a desire to try to steer the artists I enjoy towards particular characters or subject matter. I hope that you set up a system where you feel like you have the space to choose subjects and characters based on personal inspiration and whimsey, and you don’t get caught in a cycle of drawing the same characters and subject matter over and over, based on polls.

2025-08-02 01:08:01 +0000 UTCI honestly think these prices are pretty reasonable, not to mention that the higher the price, the more commission credit one gets, which is very neat! And yeah, a month in terms of keeping the works exclusive until you release them publicly is also pretty good!
