New Year, New Me - January Changes

Hi All,

This is a general update to a few different things I wanted to lay out for you all in advance of the New Year.

Firstly, a small change - I am turning on “Subscription Billing” as of January 2nd.

This will NOT affect anyone who is currently subscribed, as you will continue to be charged as normal on the 1st of each month.

This is a new system in Patreon whereby new subs to Patreon are charged on the day they sign up, then on that date of each month, instead of being charged again on the 1st of the month. It was rolled out in November and I made the decision to hold off on the change while I researched into it to make sure it wouldn’t negatively affect anyone. By November 2025, this is also set to be forcibly rolled out to all Patreon creators, so I wanted to make the change on my own terms, and making the switch just after I send out this month’s packs gives me the most possible time to make sure I’m comfortable with any changes on my end before the next packs at the end of January.

Now, on to the good stuff…

There will be some restructuring to my own personal schedule.

The Beast picture will be moved to the first week of the month.

The second week of the month will be permanently dedicated to Marvel Rivals for the time being.

Marvel Rivals is an exceptionally popular game which, as an Overwatch veteran, does not surprise me. There will be a lot of suggestions for the characters and their skins in the coming months, but no one is more excited than I am. I encourage Marvel Rivals to be suggested for the polls, but I will be doing at least one Marvel Rivals character or skin a month, so you may use your suggestions for that or for something else, but Marvel Rivals content is coming.

I’ve noticed there are people who both love and hate the style of Marvel Rivals, but the style of “Marvel Rivals” and the background artists of “What-If?” are the first artists since Arcane that have truly inspired me to want to be better.

Unlike Arcane, I feel like the Marvel Rivals style is somewhat achievable for me with enough study and practice, and as someone who has wanted his work to be more comicy, brighter and more vibrant for a long time, I think maybe I’ve found my muse at last!!

I will be continuing to experiment with ideas that I’m learning from dissecting the Marvel Rivals art style. For those that excites, I’ll be happy to see you here. But for those scared by change, I really don’t feel like my work will change that much… but if you do not like the Marvel Rivals style, maybe step back a bit, keep an eye on me, see if you like it - I won’t mind. 🥰

The third and fourth weeks will be dedicated to the Duo & Solo polls as normal.

This restructuring was necessary to accommodate a new project called, “The Yggsmir” that I will speak more on in January.

The Yggsmir is the final project that I will ever work on. It will be a collection of short stories, novels, graphic novels and artwork set in The Yggsmir, a solar-system sized tree travelling across the void between galaxies, powered by captured suns sustained by nine planets.

My vision for The Yggsmir is to create a set of worlds in which to permanently tell my stories, while also creating inclusive fantasy worlds for people to play in.

I don’t believe I’ll be very good at first, but I’m going to keep writing short stories until I improve, and each one will build on the lore and the various events of the stolen worlds of The Yggsmir.

I have a lot more details to come, but what does this mean in terms of Patreon Art?

All this means on the Patreon is that one of my solo pics every month will be dedicated to one of my sexy races or original characters from the worlds of The Yggsmir. As I was already planning to do more OCs, this is just focussing the idea a little. I will also do spoiler-free Lore drops as I work on them, but there won’t be any changes to pricing or tiers.

As many of you know, I suffer from an anxiety condition and have struggled with improving my mental health and my imposter syndrome. As such, social media can be very difficult for me at times, and with my increased workload, now that I’m also working on The Yggsmir, I need an extra set of hands to help me out around here or I’m going to have to make more drastic changes than I would like.

Instead of cutting anything, we decided that the PR and Social Media side of things was not the best use of my talents, and so I have asked my husband, Joey Turner, to become my buffer.

For me, a buffer is someone who will check my social media notifications, e-mails, messages on Patreon or Discord, filter out all the time wasters, spam, bots, AIs, trolls, religious nut jobs, racists, nazis, transphobes and terfs. He then brings me the comments or questions that I will actually value.

This will free up a lot of time for me but it is also going to isolate me a little.

Our solution is that I have a smaller personal account on Bluesky dedicated to shower thoughts, memes, sexy men, pup play, and my own personal experience trying to loose weight and go to the gym. To keep things purely to the art side, any account named Blitz will be managed by Joey Turner, but rest assured, all comments and questions are read and brought to me.

Joey has known me for 15 years. He knows me inside & out and can often predict my needs better than I can. Everything he says or posts comes from me and me alone… I simply get him to do all the grunt work that we don’t feel I should be dealing with. 😉

People are now able to suggest content creators for the polls if they so choose.

I experimented with the Durden picture and it went reasonably well. Suggestions for content creators can me made for the solo poll or the duo poll, but time must be allowed for Joey to contact the creators and get their permission in writing before I am willing to work on the picture. If I can’t obtain their permission, I will select the runner-up from the poll.

I will never have two separate suggestions for content creators on a poll. That way, the runner up will always be more straight-forward, as I will be shorter on time. Also, for that reason, I’m limiting the polls to an easier to manage number so that, when Joey brings me the list of suggestions, it’s easier for me to quickly pick my personal favourites, which I also hope will lead to more fulfilling art. These will be restricted to 5 suggestions chosen from the Character Suggestions, but a Blitz pick will be permanently added as well.
