Early 20th century (pre-WW2) jazz, pop and folk music. Some of the recordings themselves date back that far. Many of the entries are more recent recordings of songs either composed or initially made popular in the ragtime and jazz eras, though.
-Lackadaisy Listening 2 - The New Stuff
Modern revival of early 20th century music styles. A lot of upbeat electro-swing here, but I think I've included enough variety to keep it from sounding too much like a peppy, nine-hour space cantina marathon.

The Old Pitch Packet

The pitch Fable and I used initially to propose the idea of an animated version of Lackadaisy, before we decided to make it ourselves. It's a bit of a relic full of things we'd have done much differently now, but perhaps it makes an entertaining curio too. It might also be interesting to anyone looking to pitch their own ideas at some point.

I’m so mad at myself for not knowing about this comic sooner, when it started all the way back in 2005! I’m so enamored by every single panel, every single character (and yes, that includes Rocky. I’m pretty sure his parents dropped him on the head as a kit). If you have the chance, you should check out the Nekogahara manga, I have a feeling you inspired them… Love your work ❤️

2023-04-15 23:59:05 +0000 UTCThis will be the only Patreon that I subscribe to, I watched the pilot and absolutely loved everything about it, the characters, the animation and the overall story intrigued me, so I read the comic, and that may have been the best decision I’ve made in a while, I went from knowing nothing about Lackadaisy to becoming a hardcore fan!
