What I’m Drawing and Why It’s Slowed Down

Hi everyone, dear patrons! I hope you’re doing well 💛
I wanted to write a little update: to tell you what I’ve been working on, what’s been going on in my head, and where this page is heading.

Art updates

First of all, I’m sorry for the recent lack of drawings. I’ve been traveling quite a bit lately — last month I was away on a family trip for half the time, so I couldn’t draw as much as I wanted.

Right now, I’m working on a Momo Belia Deviluke piece (tentacles involved) and a drawing of Tang Keke.
I’m also behind on the February You Watanabe poll and the March Megumin poll (which I forgot to close... but Megumin was already winning by a lot on day 5).
I’ll try to catch up as soon as I can, thank you so much for your patience 💦

📉 About the Love Live dilemma

It’s no secret that Love Live has slowed down as a fandom. Amazing artists I looked up to — like Alp, Deadnooodles, Kitahara Tomoe, Sankuro — have already moved on.

I still love the franchise and its characters deeply, but it’s getting harder to grow by drawing only Love Live content. That’s why I’ve been trying to diversify.

Last time I tried something like this, I focused fully on Kana Arima from Oshi no Ko. I did 7 pieces in a row and the results were pretty decent — new people came in, and it felt like a little comeback. But even then, I quickly hit a wall: how far can you go with just one character?

So I started thinking about what to try next.

🔍 What’s next?

Two things came to mind: Blue Archive, and VTubers.

• Blue Archive has a style I really enjoy. I tried the game, and it’s not for me (not into guns or gacha), but the characters and their designs are incredibly appealing.

• VTubers are cool because they’re always reinventing themselves, and the fandom is super diverse. I could draw Gura one day, Korone the next. But I don’t really watch VTubers, so I don’t feel entirely connected.

There’s also that one big video game franchise that starts with a P and is all about training monsters...
If you know me, you know I’d love to focus just on the girls from that franchise. But yeah… suspended accounts, Patreon flags… it’s just not a realistic path, even if it’s really tempting.

Whatever happens, I’m not planning on quitting Love Live altogether.
I’m not leaving because I want to, I’m leaving because everyone else already did.
But you’ll still be able to suggest and vote on characters — so you’ll always have a voice in what I draw
