✰2024 Art Recap★

2024, probably one of the best years in terms of numbers (JUST NUMBERS, look at it!! 2024 as 4 numbers together looks so good!! No wonder we're so scared of 2025) is over; we got some notable ups and some really notable downs but we're all here n kickin'; n we better start doing a LITTLE more than just kicking as we continue into the new year- Y'hear me?!

But that's enough big talk from me for now, let's get into what i DID this year and how i feel about some select pieces over the months:

-START!!-

JANUARY: WARIOBASHING

Ah, da Duo stemming from the big W Man himself; now a reunited as a trio. A gay, sweaty, trio. This was a really obvious idea to a lot of people including myself but i really do like how i went about it- i remember being praised on the colors but i musta admit that it's all just colorpicked directly from their sprites! (Wario's is specifically from Wario Land 4, that palette is crazy neat and he's super cute in that game in particular.) I also feel i captured their personalities quite well in a situation like this (sorta barring Wario because he's busy being doubledinged rn). Shit i liked it so much i did a follow-up with the guys. I like p much every part of this- this one of the only times i'd actually accept 'peak' as a compliment wholeheartedly.

FEBRUARY: BOOSTER BUMPIN'

Haven't played Mario RPG ( shit bro my main exposure to the game is the rawest forest song ), but Booster's a pretty cute guy and his whole thing being marriage tickled a fancy in my brain. Booster,,,did you know know you can,,,marry GUYS? So yeah the idea is based on all that- plus it gave me a chance to get all gay with Mario and also throw Bowser in for the fun of it. idk if anyone noticed at all bc i was kinda light on it but i gave Bowser like, dreamboat eyes bc in his little gay ass dream they are like handsome men adoring all over him n shit.

Like i said i aint got TOO much to say but i do like what i made here, nice.

MARCH: MAR10 WEEK

Do i even need to say anything? Like for real do i even need to start. This shit gotta be one of my greatest accomplishments of all time and i am NOT kidding. Unhealthy workloads aside, i finished this shit in an impressive like; 3-4 days- and had it all ready ON TIME. I feel like there's TOO much i could say about all this; so i suppose i'll just let yall gaze over it all once again and come up with any comments yerselves!!

APRIL: FELT PARTY

EVERY YEAR BABY EVERY YEAR; none of you will beat the Homestuck out of me. You'll have to deal with it forever.

But yeah, Felt Party with the guys (featuring a little bit of Jack 'Bec' Noir bc yeah he my first HS crush)

And also an alt featuring the color palettes from Paradox Space because it is a very nice and clever idea for them to all have different shades of green and what not. Not too much on this one but i still do quite like it.

MAY: GOOGAR

Just did this on a whim and it came out like this; so of course i'm gonna put this up here.

i know a good handful of the stuff is self indulgent but i feel like this is very clearly so- to echo what i said when i posted this: Do not put me in the pokemon world, i will find a way to have a sordid relationship with my little guy. Sounds dramatic as hell to say but i think i deadass lost myself in this piece because look at the god damn rendering on this bruh.

I employed a lot of new techniques I've seen from certain places and certain artists i respect just to experiment with what me art can look like- Shiiiit i even GENUINELY lined this (although most cant tell bc according to most my lines kinda just look the same whether its low or high effort. Damn.

P much everything about this is good aside from maybe some perspective or background stuff but i'll cut myself some slack for some shit i did off the whim just because.

JUNE: EGG O' MINE

Huh, i find myself in a lot of specific monthly themes/engagements, don't i? But yes, June be the anniversary of the Blue Rat series and i of course need to AT THE VERY LEAST do something for my BBG. Thing is, i actually had the draft for this sitting around for quite a while and decided to get on it for the anniversary; and boy did i fuckin' get on it (i say, disregarding the fact that i totally phoned it in with any semblance of 'backgrounds') but it's FINE. I like what i came up with here a lot. These big ol narcissists would need to be tied at the hip every single day to get tired of eachother, and even then that's somewhat debatable. God bless the phantom ruby ig. Oh also sorry/not sorry for the concerning uptick in long socks/thigh highs in my art over the course of like last year- a friend of mine often did that with guys and i quickly grew a liking to it on masculine dudes. Live with it ig!

-HALFWAY MARK-

JULY: big

Julyyyy ??? Felt kinda dryyyy ???

Ik it's probably kind of weird to see a Jotdown commission here but honestly? I really enjoy how i did this Big piece; character looks like himself n good, pose isn't too stale, i'm able to show what i want, color inversion is nice, good usage of colored lines shapes are shaping. Overall?? High marks.

AUGUST: FAZZIN' OUT

*10 years of fazbears, dude*

What the fuck do you mean TEN YEARS? I can REMEMBER when i was watching the first game shut up rn. But yeah, these two pieces are my own homoerotic celebration of the whole series- bc we know damn well it wouldn't be this loud and popular without freaks both cock out and cock in pants. Even if it is sometimes extremely detrimental. Ahem. I admittedly kinda agonized about the Lineup pick because i wanted to get everyone's little design differences and shapes down correctly but i can only do so much when there are 10 people all touching eachother close n stuff, plus i hate workin' with detail dense designs so at some points it was like okay what the hell am i doing here- but i think i made it out pretty okay.

The worst fazbear in that lineup is Rockstar Freddy, with Glamrock as a close second dont @ me.

And the New Into The Old piece is also all-around just good- i enjoyed showin just the sheer amount of differences the two would have because they're literally like generations apart also holy shit i just realized that Glamrock's bowtie isn't colored in.

We'll just leave that like that. Folly of man.

But that aside, i think it's a really neat piece for a debatably important event in time.

SEPTEMBER: ROSHI'S KEMOHOMO KALAMITY

Yall know i had to put one out for my terrible babygirl Roshi ahaaaaaaahaaaaaa [rubbing hands together and licking my lips]

I think i had the general idea for this on mind for like a couple days and decided 'ah what the hell'; been watching thru original DB with the best friend and realized how cute like...everyone is all over again, so that's why Shu made a sudden appearance. Real thing is tho? I am OVERJOYED with how i rendered this out and made the background. I would ALMOST call this shit perfect if i had a better grip on anatomy n all that. I admittedly got super inspired by some artists i'd been watchin' and tried some of their stuff in my own art (GASP!!! Like how art in general works?!?!?!); Let this be good proof that it's better to be on an actual art site from time to time instead of just social media slop being fed the same glop time and time again.

Kinda wanna make some sort of follow-up to this but i'm not TOTALLY sure what that'd be.

OCTOBER: DIGIDONG

Admittedly i couldn't find much for October MOSTLY because that was the month where my hand like, up and exploded and i wasn't able to do anything for a while- so i had to nix requests entirely. Felt like shit and i'm still low key suffering the effects of it; i have a medical checkup in February so pray for me ig. Im glad i was able to get the bigger work done though, n this BE one of the bigger works. Bes friend is a Digimon truther so by relation i was excited to work on this when one of the Bigwigs offered him up- also he's just cute in general.

Creative on the weaner, colors are incredible, angle is interesting and inviting, got his ugly (affectionate) face right.

Big loud thumbs up. Good work, injured boys.

NOVEMBER: BIGWAG

So after a pretty good month of not being able to draw what i wanted how im used to i guess i just went crazy n took a simple request n decided (almost) FULL EFFORT ANIMATION. Literally when i say i did it On A Whim it's so true bc i drew a little pose that was the first frame and went '...but what if it moved.' Learned quite a bit about using vector lines; it's weird as fuck do yall be illustrating with that shit for real??? Or is that mainly for ultra professionals. Regardless; kinda boosted my confidence with animation in general- though i should really put this forth on something that isn't just for the Studio tbh. Crazier enough, i went and did ANOTHER one in the same month. Yeah i guess that pent up art from October's break just busted everywhere brah.

DECEMBER: KRAMPIN'

Ah, December. I'm ngl, it was a little stressful to get all i wanted done 'in time'. And i didn't even get it all in b4 the month ended; but it's fiiiiine. I pick this particular Santa + Krampus piece because i think it's a cute dynamic + i really dig my design for Krampus (duh obviously i made it ikr), it hasn't really been long enough for me to have a bunch of comments on it but generallyyyyyy i enjoy the work I've made!!
