First things first, an apology

Hello folks,

Sorry, but it's going to be a little later than I intended. Most of you know I'm terrible with timelines, but I would like to go into why this project (or my others) tend to lag behind so often.

I have a dedicated group of stalkers (haters?) who insist that I'm just milking my supporters. In reality, I've spent the last 22 days straight at work. A large part of that time was spent play testing , balancing , QOL improvements and unintended bug fixes on both this and HPC.

When snags like this happen, I'm reminded of why most other adult game devs don't "gamify" their work. The more complex you make something, the upkeep of "that thing" multiplies exponentially.

If I add a feature with a value of 1, it takes 1 effort to maintain. If I add a second feature with the value of 1, then I need to spend 4 effort to keep track of everything. Making the new feature work (1) maintaining new feature(1), compatibility with existing stuff (1) upkeep of the first feature (1).

Now imagine that multiplied by 30, and you have "technical updates" in a nutshell. While I have no doubt that there are many, many developers out there actually milking their supporters for years on end and using "tech updates" as an excuse - that's not the case with me.

The thing is, this problem is something that even Triple A games fail to get right sometimes - just look at No Man's Sky. That game has been in development for 8 years as of this month and we are just  now getting some of the promised features. A dedicated team of people spending 8 years of their life on something. And they are one of the few teams that actually had proper support and funding for their venture.

This is one famous example but this is the reason almost all of my releases are chronically late. To my credit I've been learning more about casual game development and improving my own workflow.

While I have made great strides to make my work simple yet engaging, I am far from the perfect formula, something rewarding to both you and I.

Regardless, this is my long winded way of saying that I'm still here, still working. I have taken a more relaxed pace with my health in mind. But the real reason for the delay are unforeseen tech fixes. For context, they can take 6-12 hours to fix, or sometimes even a day or more is eaten up when play testing is added into the mix. At times like this, I honestly consider making my next game super, super simple to avoid future headaches. XD

As for my health, I've felt so much better lately that I almost forgot I absolutely NEED to get those teeth removed.

I hope to do that very, very soon (like, next week God willing).

Thanks for your continued support during this time. It means a lot.

I'll get TGD released as soon as humanly practical.

Why do you keep putting up these excuses when reality is you were just working and just launched yet another game called "Endless Eden"?

You just get that dental work done, tend to your health and take it at your pace. Sadly there will always be those who want to tear down and don't care about the truth of a matter. It's hard to ignore them, but in the end the truth is the truth, no matter if everyone else says its a lie. Hang in there. I'll look forward to what you produce when its the right time and not before. Best to you.
