Week 327! (Page 481 Script Update)

THIS MARKS PAYMENT FOR THE WEEK OF 11/8-11/14.

Second script update for the month of November, for page 481.

This is actually the penultimate page for this story arc (finally), and it introduces the concept of one of the next potential story arcs, which is Kale and Lucy having a meet-up in the real world somewhere, bringing along a bunch of Kale's friends as well. This has been planned to happen for a long while now, taking a lot of things that have happened like in the VRC arc and some other arcs as well and applying and coalescing them into how relevant they are for the plot as a whole. Things like Lucy bringing up how Kale's accidents and whatever else aren't reported in the news to Eve and Ashley, things that have and will happen between Kale and Bruce, a bit of Campy's whole business, maybe even a pinch of Gus in a more unexpected way. This future arc will finally introduce something extremely important (and probably extremely late) into the comic as well, so it'll be a big one.

But at the same time it'll have a lot of opportunity to have this whole cast hang out again, which gives a lot of opportunity for other more light-hearted things as well. When I conceived of this story turn, I imagined them going to a mall, a very classic teenager hang-out spot, although that might change. For one, maybe that's a bit too retro nowadays, or in an alternate universe's future? I definitely live near a mall so dead that one of its remaining big occupants is a literal church, so I dunno. Second, uh, I mean I'll have a huge break from unique/complicated backgrounds with this 50-page story arc of Kale's grassy mindscape, but still, if I can avoid having to draw too many unique and/or detailed backgrounds in the future, that'd be nice. A mall with many different storefronts would be a lot of work. I'll have to think about it.
