Do you consider yourself queer?
Added 2024-08-24 21:00:06 +0000 UTCI just wanted an idea of whether this game is attracting queer players. I had an initial idea of who the target audience is but after almost 2 years since the very conception of the game, I might've been wrong.
The game's aesthetic, some themes and topics, and dialogue tone is arguably not the sterotypical hereto-male fantasy which is why I ask the question.
Maybe I can make better game decisions moving forward regarding themes and content if I understand ya'll better.
Obviously, your answers are anonymous and you aren't obliged to answer, just pick 'no idea' to see the results.

*steps off soap box* By the way I'm a big fan of this game an in general like everything you've got going on with it. I don't hyper identify as queer or straight, but, this game immediately appealed to me as a person. This sort of thing is just a particular pet peeve of mine. I think we, as people, need to pull back a little on how much Label affect -> the actual context of a human being, their desires, psychology, nuances, hidden depths - etc.

I just think that a question like this is the wrong kind of thing to ask. It gives the impression that if someone answers as straight then there are going to assumptions made about what a "straight" person wants to see in the game - when that might be very far from the case. It might also presume things about the queer responses? If I mark down that I'm a queer person - does that mean that I'm much more likely get to get dick girl content when really I just want a cozy romance option with a member of the same sex or a non-binary person? The devil as it were is in the details - not in any of these labels - in my opinion and I think taking on this lens will lead to poor design choices and a misunderstanding of what kinds of things people might want.

2024-08-28 07:34:01 +0000 UTCQueerness from a literary perspective, refers to the exploration of anything that challenges heterotypical normativity in sex or relationships and probably even more than that. The TTRPG Girls by Moonlight is at its heart is Queer - without requiring such caveats as "girls kissing" "boys kissing" "checkmark these things to make sure it's all queer enough" My point being that I think a poll like this isn't going to give you great results. I'm willing to bet that a lot of the straight male answers are about "I want to see a dude having sex with a chick" but might give you the wrong idea about what kind of nuance they want out of those relationships. I put "I'm a queer person" (I feel a bit ambivalent towards male and female-ness in terms of myself though I present fairly masculine) even though typically (the the use of the words typically probably denotes I qualify anyway) I'm not attracted to the masculine, I tend towards enjoying the feminine, but, as far as the range of things I'd like to see in a video game? I definitely want to see the "typical" challenged in a game about sex and the explorations of relationships and sex.

2024-08-28 07:18:06 +0000 UTCI think you might want to give a primer on what you mean by queer. There's more to it form a literary, artistic and even some parts of sexual preferences that I think go beyond the typical scope that the typical person might expect 🤔
