Megatron Process pt.2

Now we get into coloring! First image is flats, the second image is lighting plus shadows, third is overall atmosphere and lighting, and the final image includes the finishing touches.

When it comes to lighting/shadows it always helps me to visualize a scene and how I want it to feel. Megatron and Ravage are napping so I wanted dark cool tones like a dark room that has a tv going to give you white noise or some electronic lights. With cool lights I gave him warm tones brown shadows to balance it out And keep his gray colors prevalent. Have fun with lighting and moods for pieces! Play around with colors and blending modes and opacity!
