The past few days I have been spending time working on various different parts of the game, ticking off the requirements on my "Alpha Release" checklist as quickly as possible. It's not just lewd-scene art I am lacking, I also spend time working on lewd scene SFX/Dialogue, enemies, sprites, and UI art.
I figured I would post the fruits of that effort here, in order to make sure you all know I am still working on the project diligently ^^ Rest assured, I have the next defeat scene art underway, but I thought it would be ideal to share progress of all kinds~
Creating the sprites for the characters was a lot more time-consuming than I thought it would be, and I am still working on the clothed versions for three of them! Pixel art has never been a huge skill of mine, and making sure that the sprites also fit in with the other RPGMaker RTP assets was quite a challenge.
All 5 characters have a clothed, underwear, and nude verison of their sprites for use in various cutscenes. If you unequip your outfit from your equipment menu, Lucas' sprite will update as well, so you can adventure in your underwear should you so choose~
Some of the boys you rescue will have lewd sprites as well, in order to make things a bit more exciting ^^ They won't be too detailed or elaborate, but serve as something extra to reward the player for taking side quests and exploring the world. You can probably recognize all three of these boys, as I have shared their lewd CG sets already~
I also started the process of making a map for the game. It turns out this was FAR more difficult than I had expected! Making maps was REALLY not a skill of mine, even with a powerful map-making tool I was using called Inkarnate.
After about two days of frustration, I eventually settled on a style and layout I think will work! I managed to map the first two continents of the game: The Verdant Grasslands, and the Fossilized Valley.
The Alpha version of the game only covers the first continent (The Verdant Grasslands), so takes place in the lower-half of the map. I plan to have 4 continents in total, each representing a "chapter" of the game's story.
It was important to have something like this because I have implemented a travel system where you can select your destination on the map visually.
Many of the buildings and caves aren't on the map until you discover them in-game, so the world is slowly filled in as you progress ^^ I am also hoping to implement a system where if you haven't been to a continent (The Fossilized Valley included), they won't appear at all, so you can feel like your sense of scale of the world expands as you progress.

I will likely be talking in more detail about the world in the next DevLog t ^^ I hope to finish sketching the next defeat scene this week as well, so stay tuned for more :3
