I'm pretty good at pulling therapy stuff out! I'll get through AOT pretty quick I reckon, plus obviously if you aren't interested or wanted to dip out then stay on as a free member so you'll see when I start Monster. I'm going to have some extra time starting next month so there is potential to have a bit of an overlap too.

AoT is a great show, not a bad show by any means, but it will definitely pull the channel closer to a traditional review channel and away from therapist reacts. I know its connection through reaction now but it’s a shame because I was really liking the more therapeutic angle for a while. Monster was never going to win against AoT because fewer people know what it is, but the tone would have been *great*

I agree with every single phrase.

I knew attack on titan was going to win. Its unfortunate, in my opinion. It's not a bad anime but i personally think its a little too long and not the right genre for the type of content you produce. Every few years there is a new "gateway" anime that grabs all the attention of newer casual anime viewers. But the real meat and potatoes quality stories are ones that are hidden a little more underneath the surface. Anime like Attack On Titan get really popular because its full of action and appeals extremely heavily to a young male audience, not because its necessarily the most thought provoking story. That being said, out of all of the mainstream anime out there, at least AoT is probably the best. There is nothing really wrong with the anime itself, but i really don't understand how people think its the best fit for your specific brand of content. There are so many good anime out there that would be SO MUCH BETTER to see from a psychologists point of view. It's a shame really that it just comes down to a popularity contest rather than what would actually be best to get your perspective. Monster is a really slow paced anime, so i knew it wouldn't get many votes. But that is because it is a very mature adult-centered story. It really tries to focus on trying to tell a realistic story rather than using flashy action, superpowers, or combat, and that doesn't appeal to your average young viewer. But the Monster storyline is 100% the best fit for a psychotherapist. The entire anime revolves entirely around psychology and trauma. What really sets Monster apart from the others is that the characters in Monster are written like real people. Its more like watching a real TV show than an anime. The characters are not wacky exaggerated caricatures like most anime characters are. Its more like watching an HBO drama. At the very least, i just hope that you continue doing content long enough to get to these other anime, too. Not only Code Geass and Monster, but Parasyte and Steins;Gate too, as these are the best of the best when it comes to the psychological genre. Violet Evergarden is also a good contender to get a psychologists perspective on. Some anime can be really emotionally moving and its a little sad to see just the "big action anime" always get all the praise because it appeals to kids. I realize that you want to take whatever action is likely to help grow your channel. But you should also keep in mind that what makes your channel special and unique is your psychological insight into the characters and plot. And if the anime you are reacting to does not vibe with that, then there isn't really anything special about your channel anymore. So just because people vote for what is most popular doesn't necessarily mean its what is the best fit for your unique type of content.
