Death Note Episodes 35, 36 & 37 REACTION

Comments

My theory is gods of death nd deathnotes arent the only thing that affects the life spans of humans. Other things can as well. I believe deathnote involves freewill in the characters and that free will can alter your own life. (She also halved her life twice, and rem and gelus care for humans so they probably only kill to survive and probably dont take as much life as a shinigami who doesnt care like ryuk so they wouldn't have much to give when they die and give half their life to the human) thats the boring in verse reason. I like mine better

Also, an interesting point I noticed is; Rem explains that when Gelus saves Misa, he unintentionally added his own remaining life span to her which extended it well beyond normal capacity for a human and then Rem does the same, so even though Misa halves her remaining life span repeatedly, I find it odd that she died of "natural" causes so soon which is one year after Light dies according to the manga. Do you think the added life span from the Shinigami was removed when she forfeited ownership of the Death Note? If so, it wouldn't make sense as to why she had that life span added as soon as Gelus died which was obviously before Rem gave her his note book.

Death Note was my first anime 15 years ago. It has been so cool to see so many people continue to be introduced to anime through Death Note! Attack On Titan is an outstanding follow up and will furthur cement you into anime. Excited to watch your reaction videos for it! :)

tysm for finishing the whole series. I subscribed just because I didn't wanna wait on YT! Also, if you remember - any human that uses deathnote can neither go to heaven or hell. Light died in the middle of the stairs, indicating that. This anime is beyond well written, even when L was washing Light's feet portrays the betrayal of Jesus by Judas, where Jesus was washing the feet of Judas right before he got betrayed. edit: Also, in the Manga chapter 13 on how to use the death note - the author wrote that Near is smarter then L because he cheats. There is a theory that since Near had the notebook at the very end, that prior to meeting he used the note to control Mikami into appearing and writing the names in the fake notebook.. wild I watched this anime 5 times for the last 15 years and I cannot say there is a better anime than this. Again tysm for finishing the series. I would suggest for your own entertainment to watch two clips on YT - one is called "Death Note Fan Made Alternate Ending Light Wins" (just trust me on this one its 5 min long) and the other is a complete timeline of death note where you can read about all users of deathnote and what happened in the BB cases pre-light era.

Finally found time to watch this finale reaction. Classic anime series. Thanks for the reactions, Stu!

A handful of people standing around in a warehouse for an hour has never been so intense lmao!

Ahhh that clears it up for me. I kept waiting for the part where Light is begging Ryuk and it never came. Haven't watched the anime or read the manga in quite some time, so I must've mixed those endings up.

Wow. The last thing that L saw before dying was Light. And the last thing that Light saw was L.

The warehouse scene is definitely a part I had to rewatch a couple of times afterwards because of how much was going on haha. I saw the Death Note musical in London a couple of years ago, which heavily simplified the ending, so I had completely forgotten the details of how it went down until watching it here. I hadn’t watched Death Note since I was 13 or 14 (until these reactions started), so it was cool to be able to rewatch it and pick up on details I didn’t catch the first time alongside your commentary. To you, Stu, or anyone else looking for an anime to watch after this (either for the poll or just in general)— The Promised Neverland and Violet Evergarden are both some of the best TV I’ve seen period. TPN is a show with one of the most effective and impressive twists I’ve ever seen and it has so, so, so many layers. I’ve rewatched it at least five times and noticed something new each time. Violet Evergarden is a more grounded drama, but its MC is a super fascinating character (a young teen girl brought up as a soldier, who is now trying to adapt to normal society) and each episode explores different facets of trauma and human connection.

The anime changed the ending slightly from the manga. The whole Light running & dying on the stairs scene was new & beautiful. In the original, he begs Ryuk to write their names down & Ryuk writes down Light’s instead, saying that if Light is relying on him then it’s proof he’s truly lost. I like both for different reasons but there is definitely a beauty to the anime’s direction & the end result is still the same.

This has been such an interesting watch for me. My first (and only other) time watching Death Note was when I was ~13 and I remember feeling so dejected at the ending. On this rewatch, I actually so thoroughly enjoyed the whole last bit with Light and Near. It feels like this was such a great ending, in the end Light, who uses everyone in his game, loses because of the human element (Mikami disobeying orders for what he thinks Light would want). It seems like a fitting downfall.

Cyberpunk edgerunners as a next anime? It's a bit nerdy but the story and characters r written so well.
