Hey Mog, thats a good question. I think people tend to use trauma bonding colloquially as two people connecting over shared trauma experiences and im pretty sure thats what Georgia is trying to say here. Other terms I would have probably used instead are ‘shared trauma’ or shared trauma experience’. We dont need to make it any more complicated than what we are actually trying to describe. Ive heard ‘trauma-based connection’ before as a phrase too. If I was writing a report and I was referring to a person having a connection with someone else through shared trauma I would probably just call it ‘shared trauma’ because i think people would know what was meant and thats the main point. Hope that makes sense!

I am Autistic, and those intuitive interpersonal dynamics are exactly my blindspot so her explanation really deepened my understanding of why Isha's death felt so earned. I appreciated your clarification about Trauma Bonding, it definitely gets used way more broadly, and I hadn't realised that was incorrect. Is there a correct term for what people are trying to describe?
