Proof of Life #261: First release this weekend
Added 2025-02-17 21:57:07 +0000 UTCHello everyone, how are you doing in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? I’ll keep this PoL short, because I want to go back to work ASAP^^
So, you know how last PoL I talked about having a sore throat, and how it would fix itself after a good night’s sleep? Well, it didn’t, and on the next day I felt so sick and exhausted I slept all throughout the day until 7pm. I’m a lot better now, but I didn’t get to work as much as I’d hoped.
That doesn’t mean I’ve been doing nothing. I’ve finished the extra scene, which was quite a pain in the ass, and by now it only needs a bit of testing and some extra animations. I’ve also finished the story segment before the last Rose scene. That means I still got one more scene and some more story afterwards before I can release the update.
Now, because of the past week’s delay, I’ve decided to free my schedule up so I can focus on working, and you have my word that, unless something unplanned comes up, I’ll have the new update out by the end of this week.
About Steam… Well, they’re still reviewing the game as we speak, but I think it’s looking good. I’ll probably be able to sell it there.

I might even be able to squeeze two into one update as you mentioned. All things considered, Lily will have slightly less content compared to Haylen, but that's okay.

2025-02-18 04:05:59 +0000 UTCI know it is a hot topic on a certain forum that i shall not name, and that you've never really addressed it before...for good reasons i'm sure, but still i gotta ask cause it's been in the back of my head for about a year now, how many more Sidequests do you think are left before you finish HC3 ? Like, let's say you decide to go with Haylen for Update19, how likely is it that this'll be Haylen's final quest and that the next time we see her it'll be in the first ending ? You probably already know cause i've been mentioning it annoyingly often in the last year on said forum, but my guess is that you'll do 2 more quests for Lily and 1 more for Haylen, which...you know, i'd love to see 3 more quests for Lily and 2 for Haylen, but if you were to make 5 more sidequests, then there would be absolutely no way we could reach the endings before the end of 2025. And by the way, i'm only saying this because on the off chance that i'm actually right, and that we're only getting 3 more sidequests, wouldn't it be better to make 1 sidequest for Lily now, so that both her and Haylen are 1 Update's worth of content away from reaching the endings, and then go back and continue the main story for Update20, 21 22, however many Main story Updates you wanna add, and then do like a back to back "final" sidequest for both Lily and Haylen right before we reach the endings, maybe you could even do like 1 BIG Update where you release both sidequests like you used to when you started developing HC3.

Cause...you know, based on that rotation that you've been using this last year and a half, where you go around and progress each of the 3 storylines somewhat equally, the most obvious choice would be Lily, but i could easily see you make another main story Update just as easily.

2025-02-18 00:28:04 +0000 UTCYeah, that's one of the reason the extra scene was complicated. For each animation in the mirror, I had to have one reversed to match, and then make them both move in unison^^ That and some shadow behind curtains, but that was the easy part.
