If we look back, he was actually livid as he was triggered by the reminder of his face in a DAMN IRON MASK. One of Oda's best feats without once mentioning it in or out of story.

He pulls your strings opposite directions constantly. He can single handling make one of the ruthless downright evil tyrants at the lowest circle of hell and then turn around and make you have feelings for that person.

So I think he would be able to win that fight without that, but because he is royalty who believes that human life is nothing, he did that. But yeah, Father of the Year is here

I swear Oda sat down every arc and thought to himself “ok but how do I make someone MORE of a prick than the last guy” and somehow he manages it. Right now in the manga there is someone so despicable he’s bordering on crossing back over into cartoon evil but not quite enough to be endearing or funny so you still want to see him die horribly. With how long one piece has been going bros literally on a generational run of making unlikable characters 😂.

It's so clever of Big Mom to take Sanji's hands hostage... Like, who would thought of that? You need a good understanding of Sanji as a person to come up with that, which makes Big Mom all more terrifying of an antagonist for being able to read people she has never met that much. Bro, she gets him more than his biological father does...
