This got me thinking about the history of horror movie spoofs, one of the most popular genres going all the way back to 1922's "One Exciting Night". The most recent one preceding "Shaun of the Dead" was "Scary Movie" released in 2000, that franchise grossing nearly a billiion. Pure horror films have a limited audience but spoofing them appeals to a much broader fan group. Gotta love Natasha's cosplay attempts and unabashed cockney accent.
