Awesome reaction, thanks. Just glad we had the same cut because without any reference (e.g. blurred version) it's an exercise in frustration to follow along. As for the Alien franchise, for the complete Ripley experience one needs to watch movie 1 thru 4 but it is true that 3 and 4 are not as good. (I'd rank 4 higher than 3) However you really should not miss Alien Romulus. Despite no Ripley it takes place somewhere in the 57 years between Alien and Aliens and is as good as this one. (Aliens) Cheers.

2024-11-26 01:53:04 +0000 UTCInterestingly, Sigourney Weaver is an anti-gun advocate so she wasn’t a fan of all the shooting, but she did admit that that it was fun shooting the prop guns and some real guns at a range. The very obvious sexual overtones to the design of the Alien plays to the theme of rape that plays an important part of the franchise. They actually had to tone it down and change the design of the Alien Egg which originally had 2 flaps not four flaps and look like a woman parts and the studio said absolutely not and basically forced them to change it. The Alien was designed by artist H.R.Geiger. They have greatly expanded the lore of the Alien franchise with books and comic. The downfall of Hadley’s Hope colony is depicted in the book Alien: River of Pain and is a great and very suspenseful read. This is a well known fact that Paul Reiser’s mother actually cheered when his character Burke was killed by the Aliens. Carrie Henn( Newt) had basically no previous acting experience and this is her only real role as she retired from acting and is now a school teacher and has a family. She has also remained close to Sigourney Weaver.
