To use these maps, you'll need Genesis 8.1 along with this asset or similar ones: Skin Detail Resource 4.
If you want to use your Genesis 8 textures on a Genesis 8.1 model, follow these steps:
Save your current Genesis 8 morph/shape:
Select your Genesis 8 character.
Go to File > Save As > Shaping Preset and save it with a desired name.
Load a Genesis 8.1 character into your scene alongside your Genesis 8 model.
Apply your shaping preset to the Genesis 8.1 character:
Select your Genesis 8.1 character.
Locate your shaping preset in Content Library > Presets > Shaping and apply it.
Use the Skin Detail Resource 4 asset on your Genesis 8.1 character:
In the Surfaces tab, you will see new options like Detail Enable to enable detail textures.
Apply the provided Micro Detail Normal map and Micro Detail Roughness map.
Transfer textures from Genesis 8 to Genesis 8.1:
Select your Genesis 8 model.
Go to Surfaces and select a body part (e.g., arms).
Click on the base color texture and then Browse to locate the texture files.
Copy the texture location and replace the base color and translucency color textures on the Genesis 8.1 character with your Genesis 8 textures.
Replace the current textures on your Genesis 8.1 model with the maps provided in the ZIP file:
Each map is appropriately named (e.g., ArmsBump.png for the arms bump map, FaceNormal.png for the face normal map).
For the FaceSpecularLobeRoughness(2).png:
Apply it to the face specular lobe roughness 1.
Click on the texture, go to the Layered Image Editor, check Invert (negate), and click Accept.
Fix the neck texture issue:
If the neck area hasn't changed after applying your textures, it's because Genesis 8.1 textures work differently.
Go to Surfaces, then Head, and change the UV set from Base 8.1 Female to Project Eyeray UVs - G8F.
Replace all the textures in this section with the torso textures from your Genesis 8 model and the torso textures from the ZIP file.
Following these steps will ensure that your textures and details are correctly applied to the Genesis 8.1 character.
