I've seen it mentioned that you should check out the 90's cartoon for a better representation of the comics. That is completely accurate. The movies complete alter the original teams an the origins for almost all the characters. Also in the comics Mystique and Magneto are not close, simply allies in cause. The main romance for Erik in the comics is Rogue, who is in her mid 20's at the time.

2025-01-29 22:02:36 +0000 UTCJust finished your reaction (great as always lol) the X-Men comics can get pretty convoluted also lol but they've been building these characters for 60 years and now the movies are trying to condense it into 2 hour stories. If you are interested Marvel actually has their own encyclopedias on amazon that could fill in some backstories.

It would be so cool if each xmen character had a couple solo movies and then these xmen movies would bring everyone together.

Great reaction as usual and I agree with you about the story: the writers threw together a bunch of great comic book characters (Apocalypse, Psylocke, Storm, Angel, Jean Grey) with awesome and rich back stories, diluted and rushed everything. And the whole Stryker side story was unnecessary only to add the Logan/Weapon X cameo. Once again, Fox has no idea how to connect movies together. As for the end credits scene: to say more would giving away spoilers. Don't think too much about the genetics behind the mutant powers. In the movies, they are totally random. By the way, the comics, Psylocke was an X-men. You are asking all the right questions. The inconsistencies are there because the writing is not very good, and they didn't have a plan. Fox did not have a Kevin Feige (the big brain behind the MCU) who loved and read the comics. That is why the MCU is soooo much better than Fox and everyone was so happy when Disney bought back the rights for X-Men.

They really gave Michael Fassbender a chance to flex all his acting muscles in this movie, the scene with his family his acting is incredible. Another thing I'm really enjoying throughout your X-Men journey is you going from the 1st movie barely knowing any of the characters names to speaking fluent X-Men lol, that's been a lot of fun! Keep killing it and thanks as always!

2025-01-28 23:34:47 +0000 UTCI felt bad for Oscar Issac (the actor of Apocalypse) because the whole time he was encased in glue, prosthetics, latex and a 40 pound suit. He couldn’t move his head and he was constantly hot and sweating during the takes, the suit made it really difficult to move and it would squeak like latex whenever he moved, and getting it all off was even worse because it was hours of scrapping it all off.
