I'm proud of Steph for watching this movie. This movie is considered Non Canon because of how bad it is in both the canon aspect and just as a movie 😅 but hey! You've seen it. And now we move forward.

Also, I think this film was removed from the continuity??? I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure this was retconned from any of the X-Men timelines which is why a lot of people either don't recommend or skip it entirely.

I believe this is the only X-Men film I've ever watched in theaters. That was a lonnggggg time ago and, at the time, I thought was a fun watch. Nowadays... It just kinda gets thrown out of the mind. There was a video game associated with it which a lot of people loved but the movie is definitely a "once is a enough" because, for good or bad, you're going to remember it..

Stef, please REMEMBER everything about this movie. There are a lot of people in the comment section telling you to forget this movie. I implore you to NOT forget about this movie.

It wasn't a dumpster fire. The movie surpassed financial expectations. It was a box office hit and it was #1 at the Box Office. That's why they made another Wolverine movie.

I love this movie! The origin story was done well. I wish Will.i.am had more screen time. Hugh Jackman, like always, did a stellar performance. The actor who played Gambit did pretty good.
Stef, I have a question: do you look at the plot or movie trailers before reacting to any movies or TV shows?

I clearly rank this movie below X Men Apocalypse.

One of funniest moments of Deadpool and Wolverine is when they "make a reference" to how bad this one was. That's all I'll say so no spolier.

With this movie you need to just not think too much about it most of this movie will be explained when you watch days of future past so you should understand why most of this movie and other little things seem wrong or are just confusing. With your question about strikers son he was in the cryo tube you can tell by the one green and blue eyes

Well Ryan Reynolds is playing “Deadpool” in this one,but it’s not the same Deadpool in the Deadpool movies,it’s different versions.Because there’s no Deadpool film project when this Wolverine movie came out,so the origin story of Deadpool was incorrect, it just some random garbage lol.So when you watch the Deadpool movies,it’s gon be totally different from this one.But Ryan Reynolds played the Deadpool all the time so it’s normal to got confused with them.just ignore it

This movie has its fun moments and it’s cool to see some stuff in regards to wolverine’s origins but ultimately in terms of continuity this movie really doesn’t exist or exists like in a different universe lol.

Yeah Fox owned the rights to X-Men and they were horrible with continuity and sequels. I can count the all the really good Fox X-Men movies including the original, reboots and Wolverine movies on one hand. The rest are average or really bad. Please disregard this movie.

Also I believe "The Wolverine" is after this, takes place before X-Men Days of Future Past, I think it's pretty good at least compared to this dumpster fire lmao

Yeah lol you can forget most of this movie except wolverine's adamantium procedure and that he is like 100 years old 😂 those are like the key things to take away from this, you're good

I second this comment. This is one of the worst superhero films ever made. The way Deadpool is handled here is so ironically incorrect it almost feels intentional. He is known as "The merc with a mouth" you'll see why in his movies and they literally take his mouth away. Also Sabretooth and Wolverine are not brothers in the comics so this plot point feels useless. One final fun fact, the original plan was to do a whole series of X-Men: Origin films with Magneto being the next one but when this movie was received so poorly they switched gears to what became X-Men: First Class.

Hey Stef, I feel like someone should have told you this already - but a lot of your questions just have to do with all the soft re-boots that have happened with the x-men franchise. So a lot of characters that you think have met or should know each other or whatever, clearly don’t because there is really bad continuity. So don’t feel like you should have followed along or try to make sense of it.
To help you out, here are a few things you can forget as you keep watching:
1. Sabretooth (Victor Creed) never shows up again in the franchise, and his connection to Logan is basically ignored in other movies. Just pretend he’s not important.
2. The whole Deadpool storyline in this movie? Just erase it from your mind. It gets completely rebooted later in the Deadpool movies (thankfully done much better).
3. Wolverine’s memory loss from the adamantium bullet? It’s loosely referenced, but don’t overthink it—it’s just a convenient excuse for his memory issues in later films.
4. The young X-Men team cameo (Cyclops, Emma Frost, etc.) at the end of the movie? Forget it. Later movies (First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, etc.) use different actors and stories.
Honestly, treat this movie like a weird standalone story. Future movies don’t rely on it much, so you can dive into the next ones without worrying about this one too much!
