Let's Talk about "Ragnarok-Gate".
Added 2024-09-14 19:40:41 +0000 UTCHey Everyone,
Havits here, There have been some questions and concern about Stef having previously seen Ragnarok. Before we dive into this, here is a direct quote from Stef concerning this which she replied in the comment section of last night's drop.
Stef:
"I’ve always disclosed that I’ve watched ragnarok and I’m always going to open and honest if I watch a film. This specific one, I had watched with friends not knowing much about the MCU journey and not knowing background details. I loved it for its humor and When someone is unfamiliar with a series, like MCU, that branches through years of making, it’s normal for a bystander to participate in watching a film for friends without having to know everything about it"
End Quote.
First and foremost, Is this still worth watching? 100 percent yes, remember Stef watched this film randomly in theaters with friends when it came out years ago, and enjoyed it for it's humor and maybe rewatched it in passing without watching other major MCU films. Think about it, she now has an insane amount of context about characters and their motivations from all the other films. She gets to see Dr. Strange again after watching his origin film and understanding who he is. She gets to see the weight of Thor and Loki's relationship. There's so much in this film that now gives her a brand new perspective on the story. On top of that, Stef has said herself that she tends to forget things and she is now going on this journey consecutively and can understand everything.
Secondly, I know it's a bit hard to believe that someone could go so long without watching all these films that we love and have seen multiple times. I'm going to bring you all back to how I met Stef, before I ever started working for her and convinced to start reactions. She was (and still is) an incredible musician working on her music, while also doing gaming streams on twitch. She wasn't a movie buff like we all are. She said she'd randomly go to the movies with friends, or just watch the same films or tv shows that made her happy over and over. I saw how kind and empathetic she was and being a huge reaction fan and editor for other channels myself, saw an opportunity to show Stef some of the amazing films we all love.
I've always vetted Stef on the things she has watched to make sure everything we watch is for the first time. In this case, Stef had told me that she once saw the Tobey films as a child, Iron Man a long time ago, and Thor Ragnarok with friends. She loved Thor so much that she was curious about all the other films, and she always wanted to watch the Tom Holland Spider-Man films as well. She's also seen random memes here and there from the MCU, because lets face it, it's huge in pop culture. This was a huge opportunity to take her on the entire journey from beginning to end, but trust me when I say that nothing here is ruined. We all know the 20+ film journey she is now on, we all know what's next. I hardly imagine the momentum is "killed" over the side story that Ragnarok is. This film shows us a fake Thanos Glove and his ship that no casual fan even knows what it is because they never say it in the films. On top of that Stef isn't "leading" any of you on by having you watch this journey off the back of Iron Man, Ragnarok, and seeing the Tobey films.
Please trust that I am always making sure these series aren't ruined for us and that the journey is worth it. Even if Stef has seen chapters from these universes in the past. Stef watched the first 3 harry potter films over and over in her life but never completed the entire story, that series was worth it and a success. Stef had only ever seen the Original Star Wars trilogy a long time ago and her entire Star Wars Saga ended up being worth it. From one film nerd to another, we need to just relax a bit. Some people don't see every detail like we all do because we love these series with a lot of passion. Stef is also loving these films because she's taking the journey with us now, and we are all blessed to be on this journey with her. Trust that I will not steer any of you wrong. The MCU journey isn't ruined and there's a lot of great things to come.
Sorry, for the long post, but I felt this all needs to be said. If you have any questions, you can always find me on discord. Peace.

I'm new here, but after reading this I did check out her Thor video and she does say that she saw it in the theaters when it came out. So, she was upfront and honest about it. To be honest, there's only a few reaction streamers who have done the whole catalog of MCU movies and most of them have seen a couple of them back when they came out with friends, so they've seen what, 2 out of 25+ movies? It's still a fun ride to watch the reaction videos of the ones they haven't seen. Anyways I just don't see what the issue is. So far, I've found her reaction videos fun to watch.

2024-09-22 03:54:45 +0000 UTCLate to the comment party here, but there is always something to be said about original watches and re-watches. I find that as I get older, I react differently to different things. Something that may have made me laugh originally is not as funny, or something that I didn't have any emotions for I suddenly do. I was just talking about this with some folks who watch me stream games, and the example I made was watching back the Toby Maguire Spiderman movies now, I actually prefer the Andrew Garfield ones. At the time when I first watched them, it was reversed. Everyone is at a different place in their lives, and our lives are constantly evolving. Something could have happened between watches that maybe make us see things in a different light. All that to say: heck with the haters. You're doing a full watch of the MCU and if you've seen some before, big freaking deal.

2024-09-18 19:43:05 +0000 UTCShe did.

2024-09-18 14:10:18 +0000 UTCThe point is she should have disclosed it up front.

2024-09-18 06:35:10 +0000 UTCI think the comments about you having watched this film before were wildly uncalled for. Such entitled insane takes that are selfish outright. You didn't have the context of the MCU before. And seeing those things click was an absolute treat. Keep doing your thing Stef. Your reatctions are always the best.

2024-09-17 14:52:48 +0000 UTCI don't see the big deal. It's a good movie regardless, also we are here to watch with you. It doesn't always have to be the first time for something. It's the experience of just sitting back and watching it with you that matters and what makes it fun. Whomever is complaining about this is weird.

2024-09-17 14:29:32 +0000 UTCI think I’ve watched Hercules 86 1/2 times with my little girl and still get the same enjoyment out of watching her watch it. Well even more actually because she gets all the subtleties. 🤷🏼♂️ NP

2024-09-15 14:30:18 +0000 UTCNot sure why everyone was so surprised, she said she had seen it during the first Thor reaction. It got me thinking about how she'd have a deeper appreciation for it- and she did.

2024-09-15 02:14:51 +0000 UTCHavits: This isn't necessarily about you bro, we have seen similar comments before. We get them on youtube as well. I'm already bracing for what youtube comments will say when I drop this edit. The goal is to always be straightforward with all you, our biggest supporters. We don't want to chastise any individual and that definitely wasn't the intent. I just want to make sure everyone understand where we're coming from because we don't want anyone to feel like Stef isn't being genuine. We are here to bring you entertainment through this content and all your wonderful support allows us to continue doing that. So we always want to be as transparent as possible.

2024-09-15 01:43:55 +0000 UTCThere is literally a ton of people who have only seen one or two of them on their own. That is actually usually what makes ppl want to go to the beginning and watch them all!! Lol!!!😂😅 I think it's brilliant if a single movie can make one want to do that.

2024-09-15 00:54:29 +0000 UTCNo worries guys. Exactly it’s a non issue. Stef you do you. If you like them. It’s all that matters
Kevin Cavanaugh
2024-09-15 00:35:40 +0000 UTCThanks for the effort for clarification of a non issue, I personally enjoy the reactions, and look forward to this watch. There have been countless times I've sat in a theater with people experiencing the MCU for the first time or "after the fact" and still as a 53 y/o movie and print comic book nerd🤓 enjoyed their reactions while knowing the true comic book inspirations for characters, stories, "connective tissue" and "Easter eggs" especially when it comes to the MCU, so...yeah...it ain't that serious.😣🤦🏾♂️ Carry on and please🙏 continue to enjoy the ride and experience as it was intended and let the "butt hurt" individuals sit down some where.🤔✌🏾

2024-09-15 00:10:50 +0000 UTCThanks for the apology. I also agree, we all sometimes say things that we wish we could take back.
Uncle Phoenix
2024-09-14 22:55:22 +0000 UTCDon't feel bad. We all say bad things sometimes, but not everyone has the courage to apologize. That was nice

2024-09-14 22:36:38 +0000 UTCSorry yall, I said a sort of asshole thing that was part of what led to this post. I apologies, it was stupid, I have deleted that comment a while back anyway, as I myself thought it was dumb to say anything about "leading us on" and stuff, so yeah please accept my apologies. It was arrogant af. I honestly didnt think it would of led to such a post being made which makes me feel even more like a piece of shit and judging by this post, I hit a nerve with stef and Havits, so sincerely I do apologies for it.
Thats MR. Baldamort
2024-09-14 22:19:04 +0000 UTCHope you know Stef that 99.9% of us love your reactions and don't care that you saw this movie a while ago with no context. Please don't get hung up on the few sour apples that got bothered!
Alex Ocean
2024-09-14 21:36:35 +0000 UTCShe’ll understand everything this time. Very big difference
Anamondaris
2024-09-14 21:21:02 +0000 UTCHavits, thanks for touching on a topic that didn't really need to be a thing. This is the best reaction channel on YT, fuck anybody that wants to get that worked up about movie reactions. Keep up the awesome work you and Stef!
Cbt87
2024-09-14 21:14:19 +0000 UTCPeople need to understand that Stef will have watched films in a franchise like the MCU a long time ago just like the first 4 Harry Potter films. Stef maybe forgot what happens until she rewatches the film. If you going along to criticise someone about rewatching something that they have watched a long time ago don’t bother commenting tbh you are making yourself look bad.

2024-09-14 20:15:44 +0000 UTCSome people DEFINITELY take their fandoms far too seriously, and lash out with absolutely zero thought about the other person, or how they give the rest of us fans such a bad name, or that they’re pretty much pushing that person AWAY from becoming a lifelong fan. It’s extremely sad that people feel the need to act like that way towards someone they don’t know, and to help perpetuate the toxic image so many fandoms have.
Danny Miller
2024-09-14 20:05:42 +0000 UTCi don't care if Stef has seen the movies before, her reactions are still really entertaining.

2024-09-14 20:04:47 +0000 UTCCome on! It's no big deal, don't worry (be happy ツ )
Avocadorable
2024-09-14 20:04:36 +0000 UTCThere has been mentions in other MCU films that she's seen a couple, but this one was named. Seems like newer folks not knowing what she's seen before. I'm just glad to see the entire journey - no matter if some are a second viewing. Stef probably fell asleep the first time in the theater lol
Scott S
2024-09-14 20:00:51 +0000 UTCShe has already said this before and even if she didn't it ain't that deep y'all trippin

2024-09-14 19:55:25 +0000 UTCAgree, not a biggie. Watching the reaction now and still enjoying it!

2024-09-14 19:53:23 +0000 UTCHey Havits I'm with you and Stef 100% brother. I don't care if Stef has watched something before I will always watch Stef's reactions as she is one of the most genuine and honest reactors out there and is always up front if she has seen something. I trust you and Stef 1000% in bringing out amazing reactions to whatever Stef is watching. Keep up the phenomenal work you've got a huge fan base loyal to you that doesn't care if it's a second reaction or not. 😀😀😀
Mr Music Addict
2024-09-14 19:53:12 +0000 UTCI dont think this is an issue at all, if shes seen it, its without context or knowledge of the context. I do though want to know if there are any other movies in the mcu shes seen?
Kristoffer Smedegaard
2024-09-14 19:50:27 +0000 UTCExactly, the fact that they had to explain any of this, just shows how weird people can be. She still showed a genuine reaction even though she remembered some little parts that were pretty irrelevant to the story. People just need to appreciate that shes even on this journey of movies.
Dawnn_525
2024-09-14 19:50:23 +0000 UTCMeh. Also; TL;DR, Jesus Christ.
Diiirk706
2024-09-14 19:49:03 +0000 UTCSeems like unnecessary drama here. Watch the movie, disclose that she saw it once before, and people can watch or not. 🤷🏻♂️
