2024-05-25 04:39:34 +0000 UTCYes, Jon did it on purpose. They (the halfhand and Jon) talked about how valuable an inside man in Mance's camp would be. They would have tortured Qhorin Halfhand anyway, he was their sworn enemy so he wouldn't be able to convince them where as Jon would. Sansa figured Stannis would win. He would have returned her safely (most likely) or so she hoped. But she doesn't trust people at the court anymore. She might have been naive in season 1 but no more. So she is going to do nothing that might provoke the Lannisters and isn't a sure bet.
