Star Wars : The Clone Wars Movie Watch along

Star Wars : The Clone Wars Movie Watch along

Release order starts off with Yoda meeting King Kaatunko. You really think most people remember that's supposed to be the same guy from season 1 episode 1 when in season 3? That the episode takes place before the first episode? By the third season no one even remembers who that is to even make that connection.

Sharnia Buford

No, the movie is the first three episodes of the clone wars and the show picks up right after this. Just watch the show in release order and you’ll be caught up. Glad to be watching this with you. It’s always fun.

A lot of people are going to recommend you watch the Clone Wars tv series in chronological order instead of release order. I would disagree. This isn't a case of a show being aired out of order by a network, the show was intentionally released to have several of it's episodes either taking place before or after the present in the timeline. Every single episode has a recap catching you up to it's events and fills you in on any previous context. It's fun putting the timeline together in your head.

Chronologically, this movie is the 3rd "episode" of the whole Clone Wars series. There are 2 episodes in the show that take place just before this movie, and should be the first 2 episodes you watch when you dive in. As long as you're following the chronological order of the series, rather than the seasonal/release order. I will very highly recommend looking up the list of the episodes in chronological order. Simply watching from season 1 episode 1 to episode 2, to 3 and onwards is a giant mess. As for it being an easy watch, yeah, the earlier episodes are pretty light hearted, but the tone gradually grows darker as the series go on, keeping the theme of the unfolding events and Anakin's story.

Hmm... while the introduction of Ahsoka is nice, this movie is written with a pre-teen audience in mind. The later live-action "Ahsoka" series on Disney+ is more suited to adults and the stories have more mature themes and complex relationships.Contrary to what some may say, we don't necessarily have to watch every preceding Lucasfilm and Disney+ live action and animated series to appreciate "Ahsoka" (2023). I found many episodes of both "The Mandalorian" and "Obi-Wan" to be of 'TV' quality story lines as opposed to film quality.

Definitely an easier watch. The series (and this movie) was originally geared toward a younger audience, but matured as the seasons went on. So bear in mind there will be some "filler" episodes each season. Fun fact, this movie was actually 3 episodes they put together and showed in theaters to get people interested in the series. Dark Dragon answered your timeline questions, but yeah the Clone Wars series scratches that itch between Episodes 2 and 3, since the movies went from "Begun, the Clone Wars have" to them being over.

In terms of order The Ahsoka series takes place 3 years after the mandalorian. 11 years after a new hope. 10-15 years after Star Wars rebels (series similar to the clone wars but takes place 15 years after revenge of the sith). Ashoka series also takes place 30 years after the clone wars series.

Dark Dragon

A lot of people were very dismissive of this movie when it came out, but I liked it fine. It is a harmless and fun little movie, which didn’t really make much of a difference either way. Glad that you enjoyed it. I loved Star Wars as a kid. Have not seen any of the TV shows, most of which are pretty recent.
