It's definitely not a retcon; her entire storyline in the latest game revolves around her questioning her gender identity (as she previously identified as a cis male), and after much soul-searching, she eventually comes out as a trans woman at the end of her story mode. It would only be a retcon if the devs claimed she was ALWAYS meant to be depicted as a trans gal and that she always identified as such (as that would completely contradict her dialogue and storylines in previous games, along with tons of other past official material that referred to Bridget with masculine terms). TL;DR version: she was a sexy femboy, then the new story is released, character development happens, and she's come out of it as a sexy trans gal. ❤️
