This wasn't an easy task, there are surpisingly little information on the origins of our most frequently used mouthpieces. Also the taxonomy and geographical placement is slightly arbitrary since I wanted to fit everything on the map, but I at least tried to include some contextual justification.
Hopefully you can get some information out of it!

We enjoy our many war documentaries, but at the same time we try to separate ourselves from our ancestral wrongdoings. And yeah most modern tools have their historical predecessors. I suppose refining and iterating upon an idea sprung from a need is the foundation of invention.

2021-03-30 19:05:51 +0000 UTCIt's interesting reading. And not really surprising there's not a lot of info, the world doesn't like remembering where a lot of these kinds of things come from. I know most of them are modern inventions though.... for example sufficient supply of rubber for such things is a post industrial revolution thing, plastics are much more recent.
