Hello friends,

welcome back to Swiftlessons for another blues lead guitar lesson. In this session I'll be breaking down a complete solo over a 12 bar progression in the key of D major. Hi Rob. I’m a novice but thought it would be fun to challenge myself since I want to learn to play blues. I’m having a bit of an issue with the D7 chord. My fingers and thumb are as long as yours. I can get my thumb around the neck barley to fret the low E but can’t mute the A string. I’ve been trying to mute it with my index finger pushing against it as I fret the D string on the 10th fret. I’m having modest success with that. I also tried fretting the low E skipping the A and then strumming the D,G and B strings. - Any suggestions or tips?

omg, I just saw it on SoundSlice, I can not express my gratitude enough!!! THANK YOU, you made my weekend, I'm gonna set out to conquer this one.

Absolutely Brian, I'll be sure to tab out the performance on Soundslice ASAP. Thanks for the request. -Rob

Hi Rob. After following your videos for a month or so, today I decided to become a patron. Am delighted to see that I can download the tab both as pdf and as a Guitar Pro file. I'm brand new to acoustic, but I began playing lap steel in March and quickly realized that I would want to write tab for the music I hear in my head. And already, with just a quick look at your file for the Blues solo, I've learned more about using GP. And...even better...after just a few minutes with the tab, I can tell I'll soon be able to play this...badly and slowly for now, but seeing as how I began playing only two weeks ago, that's progress!

Any chance for this on SoundSlice? I really love the visualization as you play, it makes a tremendous difference for me.

Great! More blues improvement lessons please! Your breaking tips are appreciated

Great lesson. Thanks. I’m going to start on it today.
