Awesome Stevie Ray Vaughan Lead Guitar Trick!

Hello friends,

Welcome back to Swiftlessons for another lead guitar tutorial. In celebration of the late-great Stevie Ray Vaughans birthday, today's session will be dedicated to breaking down one of his go-to tricks. We'll begin by learning how Stevie would embellish the minor blues scale using chromatics before tackling this ear-catching lick of the week. Let's get started!

Hey Roger, thanks for that positive feedback on my teaching method. I know how easy it is to get lost on the fretboard, so I'll continue providing useful check points and scale patterns to anchor these techniques to. Yes, we have a pretty descent view of the wetlands, and can see the bay at a distance. Probably the most delightful thing to see throughout the day are the many different types of birds that frequent these shallow waters, especially the egrets, and great blue herons.

I love these brief lessons, thanks Rob. What stands out for me is how you frequently refer back to the key and scale you’re playing in, it helps me tie it all together much better than just copying the tabs. Beautiful window reflected in the guitar, I imagine the view from it is fantastic!
