SMALL UPDATE FIRST

Hey everyone! I haven't posted in a while and I'm thankful you're still supporting my work. The start of 2024 was pretty rough with my studio job and I apologize for my lack of streams and presence on Patreon. Things are now smoothing out, and I should be back on track very soon!

ARTBOOK NEWS

Good news now!! I had a recent talk with a book designer and started discussing the formatting and content of my future artbook YAAYY!!! I still need a few extra pieces but this is now a clear set goal for me and I'm super excited.

2024 LIVESTREAMS

With almost 30 educational workshop streams done and my shift in focus to finalizing the content for my artbook, I'm thinking of switching up the style of livestreams. The idea is simply to work on my pieces and answer questions of any kind from people in the chat - something more productive and casual. I'll see you all this Sunday at 10:30am ET to kick things off again!

BUTTERFLY

For this piece, I was mostly working on some new process/workflow ideas - mostly relating to value painting, the look of materials, and the compression of values in the final illustration. You can check out the PSD below to see the new layer setup I used to achieve this look. At the same time, I also wanted to solve an ongoing issue I've had with multi-layered designs and how to manage many elements while still keeping my layer stack compact. This solves some of those issues.

The design itself isn't too thought out besides that haha just a delicate butterfly-themed sci-fi chick. Thanks for reading to the end and have a great day!!
