Geeta Vasant Patel, the director of this particular episode, said that “Those are Daenerys’ eggs.” However, in an article published in Mashable, Belen Edwards argues that in Fire & Blood “Martin highly implies that Daenerys' eggs made their way to Essos long before the Dance of the Dragons, during the reign of Jaehaerys I. The person responsible was noblewomen Elissa Farman, gifted sailor and lover of Princess Rhaena Targaryen (not to be confused with House of the Dragon's Rhaena). After Rhaena and Elissa's relationship soured, Elissa stole three dragon eggs from Dragonstone and sailed to Braavos. There, she sold the eggs to the Sealord of Braavos and used the gold to fund further sailing adventures.” With that being said, until George R.R. Martin clears this issue up, Patel's position probably shouldn't be considered canon. “Elissa Farman departed for Driftmark the next morning. From there she took ship across the narrow sea to Pentos. Thereafter she made her way overland to Braavos, whose shipwrights were far famed, but Rhaena Targaryen and Princess Aerea had no notion of her final destination. The queen believed she had gone no farther than Driftmark. Lady Elissa had good reason for wanting more distance between her and the queen, however. A fortnight after her departure, Ser Merrell Bullock, still commander of the castle garrison, brought three terrified grooms and the keeper of the dragon yard into Rhaena’s presence. Three dragon eggs were missing, and days of searching had not turned them up. After questioning every man who had access to the dragons closely, Ser Merrell was convinced that Lady Elissa had made off with them” (George R.R. Martin Fire & Blood 2018 Kindle: p. 217).
