Technically King Robert Baratheon's grandmother was a Targaryen, that is why many thought he had a goodclaim to the throne. But Joffrey doesn't know he's not Robert's son. He should have said so to Maergery when she said "Their ancestors built this", but I think the show runners forgot that detail!

2022-10-31 18:14:03 +0000 UTCLove the reactions but quick clarification. Tyrion is Master of Coin of the Seven Kingdoms, he was talking about the realm's finances, not the Lannister finances. He was saying the realm was in debt the the Lannisters yes, but the realm was further, much further, in debt to the Iron Bank. The Lannisters themselves are not in debt.
