TALK PURITY TO ME BABY - BLISS For one, I’m happy you are; sometime in the future; will watch Better Call Saul. I’m looking forward to when you’re able to find a schedule to include Whitney cause truth is, the Breaking Bad Universe wouldn’t be the same without her. And yes Whitney, there was also a pay phone at my middle school. It’s upsetting but also a reminder that we’ve gone through the struggle of tele-communication and prevailed!!! I’ve waited until you submitted your finale episode 16, before I watched your final two season finale episode reactions & as usual your explanation of how you feel about this series is upstanding. P.S. Whitney’s legs 😍🥰

When you finish the series, there's a video on YouTube called "The Terrifying Brilliance of Breaking Bad’s 'Granite State'”. In it, the narrator argues that this episode was critical not only as a setup for the finale, but as a continuation of the previous episode. Ozymandias was a total nightmare, but imagine the relief you feel when you wake up from a bad dream. Now imagine you wake up, and the nightmare is real, instead. That's Granite State. Walt is still fucked, and this episode makes that painfully clear, with his desperation for an hour of a stranger's time. A lesser show would have skipped on to the finale to see how these characters' arcs end. This show is comfortable making you uncomfortable, though. It'll let you watch Walt's wedding ring fall of his finger, because that's an important moment to capture, and it's worth the time. Even while time runs out.

I think he believes he loves his family, but he's got too many skeletons and faults to actually give healthy love. He needed to be broken.
