Cypress Waterfall Edit! 🐮 (Moodity)

Hey guys, just an update on a piece I did near the end of last year. I wasn't happy with how I executed the lighting on it. In fact, it was poorly executed enough that it even cause the white fur patch on his chest to completely disappear, just due to the local values not being correct 😂

I know what I was going for was trying to add a sort of ambient light around the edges, but I for some reason made it WAY too bright in the lit areas of the forms, and it came across more like an intense rim light, which is not what I wanted since I wanted this piece to have more natural lighting. 👍

To briefly explain, his fur/skin is wet in this piece and would therefor be more reflective. The fresnel effect would be more apparent, causing ambient lighting in the environment to be more visible around the edges of the forms. The problem with what I did though is that the environment's ambient lighting is NOT very bright, so it would mainly only be visible in the shadow form areas, since the value there are dark enough to pick up that lighting. On the lit areas of the forms, they really wouldn't because they're either brighter or just about at the same value as the environment. So it's still there, but just not THAT noticeable 😂 It was a major mistake on my part and was honestly annoying me anytime I saw it lol. So since it wasn't that long ago, I figured I'd just fix it.

Besides that, I also fixed some posing and anatomy issues as well. 👍

Also I went ahead and made the edit to the nood version, since it was just prior to me starting to do that anyways. 😂 I've included both versions, so that you can see the differences.
