2025-07-01 14:48:34 +0000 UTCI still go back and forth on the endings. Personally, as someone who has lived half in their head for much of their life, I think Verso's ending is the one I prefer. As much as I would admit to using escapism for much of my life to deal with really crap times, I think it's important to separate fantasy and reality. The way Maelle and Aline use the canvas feels kind of...unhealthy. It feels like how someone might get lost in addiction when dealing with grief. Also Verso CHOSE to sacrifice himself for Alicia. The last sliver of his soul doesn't seem to want to keep painting. If painted Verso is anything like real Verso, I think he'd probably make the same choice painted Verso did.
