The Arbiter's Grounds & The Twilight Mirror | The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess [Part 11]

I love the Arbiter’s Grounds as a dungeon it really is like a combination of the Spirit Temple with the Aesthetic of it’s design & the Shadow Temple with the more macabre traps & the darker stuff associated with it along with the ghost puzzle from the Forest Temple with the addition of the transformation mechanic. I love how there are 2 designs for the Poes & the 1 in this Temple is certainly more… horrifying just looking like corpses. This dungeon has good puzzles but I think the puzzles get great & really fun once you get the Spinner and I agree that this game has some of the most unique and fun items in the Zelda series and the way the dungeons are designed around the item you find is perfect IMO although I wish the Spinner had more utility outside of this dungeon. Yeah this game has great mini bosses & this demon sealed away forever in a cursed sword with those classical Japanese seals is 1 of my favorites especially how it utilizes both human & Wolf form & I agree the idea that Link sees the obviously cursed object & releasing it is am using especially your idea that he new and just deciding killing a demon is the easiest thing in the world LOL. Also I love it’s design. I don’t think this skeletal beast is the best boss but it’s 1 of the most fun it’s basically a roller coaster & the concept of a giant ancient creature being brought back is just cool. I think it shows that Zant is feeling threatened by Link at this point of the story since he actually came in person to create the boss. I love how the animation shows the rage & then despair Midna is going through realizing that Zant has broken the mirror. It’s interesting to see the designs of the Sages in this game which is probably what they look like after not having physical bodies for so long they are good ethereal/mystical designs & I love the connection it has with OOT being the original Sages before all the Sages in OOT replaced them which probably means Ganondorf got rid of the sages we see in TP once he got into the sacred realm in OOT. Also I love how the execution basically tells us TP takes place in the timeline where Link was sent back & warned the King about Ganondorf because otherwise the execution here would not make sense. The scene of his execution is 1 of the most memorable parts of the game to me & a lot of people it’s just so well done. Having a character in get stabbed through the gut & just keep going and kill 1 of his supposed executioners with his bare hands while looking like a demon is 1 of the most badass things you can do and it’s a great way to establish a villain with how dangerous/menacing/terrifying they make him alongside the animation & voice. Also Ganon’s outfit in this game is awesome. One last thing is that I agree with you about Link’s versatility & ability to think on the fly in universe is amazing it’s something all versions of him seem to have. Awesome part & keep up the great work. :-) <3

I know the presence of Ganondorf here is a little confusing. But there is an explanation. Hope you keep that in mind.

How fun was the boss fight though?! The jumping on the rail with the spinner and avoiding the obstacles was so fun! It only took like 10 seconds at a time and always left me wanting more. I'd probably get bored after two minutes, but I also feel like I could do that for hours 😅

The sages here are the original ones, the one you know in Oot are the replacements.

Lars

Glad you picked on the timeline thing with ganondorf. The Zelda timeline is abit of a mess 🤣

Every upload has had me filled with excitement as I go on this adventure with you. You're always smart at figuring things out from your previous experience gaming. Quality of life tip: there's a hotkey on the Wii U gamepad to transform instantly without talking to Midna

This upload timing is a surprise to be sure, but, a welcome one
