Thanks for mentioning that the big villain behind this is actually EA. Sure some of the choices Bioware chose for this games narrative aren't what I'd have picked. But I can be totally forgiving of areas that feel more rushed or whatever because I know the level of stress they've been put through in this games development has been wild. EA should honestly be ashamed of it, they really have no fucking clue how this stuff works. Just because something is loved doesn't mean it should be changed. If it works as a single player then I cannot understand why you'd take that as an opportunity to say "make it all online". Money can't be the only reason, I also think it's just flat out incompetence. If they wanted to cash in on dragon age with a live service game they should have done a spin off.

2024-11-17 17:47:18 +0000 UTCSo the whole getting to know companions thing is handled differently in this game. Honestly, if we're talking about show, don't tell, it does follow that logic more. Instead of asking them about their background, you'll get in bits and pieces more organically. There are a lot of things I prefer from other games, but I am happy with the way this game handles personal quests and the way all the companion stories stretch over the entirety of the game.

Like it would be so easy to make your character, play through that, meet up with Varric and have that flow into the opening narration already in the game as the time skip. I know they said they weren't going to do DLC even before the game came out, but man, I would pay for that.
